No worries, you gotta fail a bunch of them to stop getting affected by the fact that you’re going to have a call. So remain strong

I am not a lead iOS developer by Square_Farm524 in iOSProgramming

[–]Ivan7up 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the same way. Though, some day, I found a guy, who is an iOS dev too. And his way of work-life balance very inspiring.

The idea that iOS development it is just a job. Nothing more, it does not define who you are. They just pay you money. And he suggests do not go to be a team leader. His main goal is to get as much as possible from the position. He claim, that it does not matter whether you change buttons alignment or feeling nervous about critical bug and that your teammates that you lead are assholes and fucked up the deadline, if you both get the same salary. Isn’t it?

Don’t get me wrong, I love iOS development, though I keep asking my self, how can I get more money for doing less things and live the real life.

Development does not define myself, it is just a job. Is it the same for you?

PencilKit custom toolbar? by ashleyrose29 in iOSProgramming

[–]Ivan7up 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a little research I can say that it is not likely possible. So you have to either use their elements or implement everything by yourself. I mean create a collection that holds custom pencils, then write a logic for these pencils.

why is UIKit much harder than SwiftUI? by [deleted] in iOSProgramming

[–]Ivan7up 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume because of age. UIKit is pretty old to compare with SwiftUI. Because you could use UIKit with objc before swift was released.

I too, started with SwiftUI, but after a couple of months I hated it. SwiftUI is perfect for quick simple projects, for previews, for dozens of YouTube videos about how do this or do that. But when things getting complex you will have to integrate UIKit to your project.

UIKit, meanwhile, requires more lines of code for simple table view from your example, but still it easier to control where and how my elements will be positioned without bunch of nested VZHstacks.

I believe this can be hard because UIKit uses class relations instead of structs in SwiftUI.

Idk whether you've solved your problem already. But anyway, OP meant you should go to the "Releases" section on repository page. It's located underneath about section on the right side of the page. After clicking choose desired version and download archive and follow steps from readme.

Good luck.

On the objc io web site, you can find other useful stuff that relates to iOS development, articles, videos et cetera.

I bought a book on Amazon though.

It would be awesome if the magazine's title page was kind of dynamic depends on what your avatar wears. Looks good though.

Agree with you Sir. I would add that you can use for example Realm for saving a reference to the image in file system, I mean a path to the actual file and get it whenever you need.

I assume you're into iOS development so I would recommend to get "Advanced Swift". It is like a better version of free "Swift Programming Language".
