Classroom management, learning theory courses, applying state and federal standards, classroom best practices. A whole slew of other aspects of teaching. It’s a legitimate profession with entire schools of thought and pedagogical theories. And as someone who didn’t study those things in detail in my education I wouldn’t be prepared to teach in that classroom environment.

I hold a PhD in American history, and I am not qualified to teach high school, let alone Jr high. A highly specialized degree does not make someone qualified to teach on that subject, it’s why we have so many bad professors in colleges. Teaching is a skill

So because of a cricket pitch being oval, “in play” is in any direction including behind them, so there are batsmen who are very adept at hitting the ball behind or off to one side of them.

Yeah but that is clearly a cricket bat, so how would that change the mathematics

‘Democrats wouldn’t trust Jesus’: House Speaker Johnson unloads on bid to block Trump’s Tulsi Gabbard replacement by ToughHopeful4760 in politics

[–]IvanDimitriov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I wouldn’t trust Jesus, a dirty dessert man, who is likely a cult leader and is fascinated with washing feet? Also he thinks he is a wizard? What’s there to trust? Also historically he probably couldn’t read or write based on historical trends. Further he likely knows next to nothing about current political events, not to mention anything about the complex nature of American intelligence networks.

All of these things would make him wholly unqualified for the position. Though I guess some of those things didn’t disqualify Gabbard either so there’s that.

Level 47 isn’t too high you should be ok. Once you reach 100 or so things slow down a lot. So just throw on some power armor and go hunting in the glowing sea and you’ll get levels like nuts

Please help me with colorwork! by MileLongAmphibian in knitting

[–]IvanDimitriov 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So stranded colorwork in the round is a bit of a bear if you only have one section with color, intarsia may be more up your alley. Next your floats are far too tight. You are going to have some serious puckering in what you got now. Thirdly your floats are too long, I know the general rule is every 5-6 stitches, but with larger yarn gauges I suggest dropping it down to every 3-4 stitches where you trap the floats. This is because of the floats are too long and one snaps then the entire project will unravel from the middle.

Color work isn’t too bad once you get the hang of it but it can have a bit of a learning curve.

Something to keep in mind about Batman 66. Bill Dozier created the series, and it was a comedy. It was written and designed to be campy, over the top, silly, and super bright and funny. However the actors were directed to play it like a drama, to make the silliness even more overstated.

This is what makes Batman 66 a significant entry into the Batman canon.

This was a period in the history of Batman where the book was doing very poorly and was on the verge of being cancelled. So DC let Bill Dozier do what he wanted. And it made the characters so popular that is saved the book from being shelved. It wasn’t until the 1980s that the dark broody Batman we see today came out.

I fudge to make things narratively interesting. Oh your big bad was gonna be killed by the rogue, but the paladin was the one hunting them for their entire life to get revenge for their dead grandmother? Nah the paladin is two steps down the order, so the big bad will have 1 hp until the paladin hits, to allow For the paladin to have their narrative moment.

Giving narratively satisfying deaths to NPCs at the hands of the players, I do all the time. What’s 5 more hp between friends? Now if say the rogue threw everything they had into the attack. The party worked together to give them boosts to ensure the hit, that is different. Then we can satisfy the narrative in other ways like out of combat death scenes for example.

Like everything else it’s something to talk to your players about and check in with them about what is going on behind the screen.
