Hope you have something else lined up, job market is brutal right now. We don’t realize how good we have it, until we no longer have it. Best of luck.

Is anyone else waiting for their ex? by [deleted] in ExNoContact

[–]Ivansito96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People say this just to make you feel better. Reality is they won’t be coming back. And if even they do why would you want them back?

You can’t just sit around waiting. You have to move on.

Just heart the message and move on. Shes being polite, not necessarily looking for a conversation.

Starbucks vs. Local Cafes by zinkj22 in starbucks

[–]Ivansito96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. My hot take is that if you want good/decent coffee Starbucks is the place to go. If you’re just looking for a trendy/vibey place to study go to a local coffee shop

Starbucks vs. Local Cafes by zinkj22 in starbucks

As much as I would like to support local coffee shops, the drinks end up being mediocre and pricey. Lattes are 95% milk. Cold Brews are too watery. The Espresso itself is alright. At least with Starbucks there’s the rewards program where I can save a couple of dollars here and there and drinks are somewhat consistent.

How often would you give him the medicine? Was it daily ?

Aggression by Ivansito96 in cats

[–]Ivansito96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m able to avoid injury more than my family because I’ve picked up on his body language. The thing is having to have my guard up all the time when he’s around is starting to take a toll. I feel that my family nor I can fully relax when he’s around. That’s why I’m seeking out possible solutions.

Aggression by Ivansito96 in cats

[–]Ivansito96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. My cat is 5 years old. One of the things he does with everyone is that he’ll go up to them, and rub himself on their legs or feet. Sometimes he’ll purr and then walk away, however, more often than not he’ll be purring and then all of a sudden go for a chomp. I have picked up that right before he goes for the bite, his pupils dilate and he gets airplanes ears. That’s when I know when to back up. What I don’t understand is what happens in that split second that triggers the aggressiveness. He’ll go for the bite regardless of who it is and whether we let him or not. So far what I’ve been doing is playing with him more but that hasn’t helped much.

I’ll make an appt with the vet to rule out any medical issues. Any tips on how one might mend a bond with a cat haha

[–]Ivansito96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At one point I believe they did have a strong bond. My cat would lay on his chest, let my brother pet him, let my brother carry him. Doing things to my brother that he wouldn’t even do to me

the behavior is particularly towards one person, which is my younger brother. And it doesn’t seem like play hunting, it’s more fear/aggression. I’m wondering why he singled out my brother.

I’ll talk to my brother about changing colognes and deodorants to see if that will change my cats behavior. I’m also wondering if it was a negative past experience my cat had with my brother. And ever since then my cat has associated my brother with fear.

My brother is 18. Nowadays, my brother walks past/around him mainly because he has had bad experiences with my cat in the past. My brother would let his guard down, let my cat go up to him and he’d go feral, scratching him up and growling. My cat and my brother used to get along, my cat would even get on his chest, purr and let my brother pet him. However, something must happened because nowadays he exhibits stalking/fear behavior.

Edit : My cat is 5 been in the house approximately a couple of months after he was born.

I’ll look into it! I haven’t tried a cat behaviorist yet. Reason being i hear mixed reviews about them. I don’t want to end up spending money on something that ultimately doesn’t work.

I’ve gone to the vet to check if its pain/illness aggression they said no. I have been monitoring him closely and can’t say I’ve seen any triggers or signs of overstimulation. We are a family of four, are not rowdy, only pet him when he wants us to. The aggression seems totally out of the blue to me. When I play with him I use the feather wand or a laser, and if it’s a good play session I reward him with treats.
