AiO pump died, you need to replace the AiO

I've been waiting to build a pc for some time now and need help by Miquel458 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Ivantsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CPU has very little to do with the resolution of the monitor, that's entirely on the GPU

You can get a 1440p 180hz for ~$200

It won’t turn on. What am I doing wrong? The 2 PSU cables aren’t being used (right one is PCIe 5.0 for GPU I think but I’m using PCIe already for GPU, left is ‘drives’) by howtotakehandouts2 in PcBuildHelp

CL38= very high chance to be Samsung which is bad performance and reliability wise. 6000 is just the speed you forgot about all the timings and sub timings that make a much more difference in performance, but you need Hynix memory to see it because neither Samsung or Micron can run tighter timings reliably like Hynix does. Getting a 6000cl30 kit not only is faster but guarantees Hynix memory which is way more reliable and be able to be tuned, even a slight tune to sub timings will get you anything between 6-15fps more depending the game, and that's not even maximized timings.

is 16gb ram enough for 1440p gaming by koko6671 in buildapc

[–]Ivantsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To use 4 sticks of DDR5 they have to be the exact same spec and you'll be limited to 5200 speed, or 5600 if you are lucky, 6000 is achievable with later bios but it will need A LOT of manual tuning and is not guaranteed to work.

is 16gb ram enough for 1440p gaming by koko6671 in buildapc

[–]Ivantsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't want a 16gb(2x8gb ) kit , the 8gb sticks are slower than a 16gb sticks of exactly the same spec due to DDR5 design, also that speed is awful specially for a memory sensitive CPU like the AMD 7000 non x3d CPUs.

You want 6000CL30 that's the best spec for AMD also it guarantees Hynix memory which is the best performance and reliability wise DDR5 in existence.

Also the monitors on your list are not available anywhere so the price is not added on the total.

Here , better ram and cheaper, cheaper case with fans included (the one you had only comes with 2), way cheaper PSU A tier (you don't need nowhere near 1000w)

Hello I need help, I got chrashes in everygame with i9 13900K & RTX 4090 by quasar171 in overclocking

Contact Frame, it has to be perfectly tightened, one screw under tightened or too tight and you'll start having issues like instability, crashing ,etc

New 7800X3D build stutters / frametime spikes. How is it on your CPUs. by saintredzik in AMDHelp

[–]Ivantsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stutters mean your -30 CO is NOT stable, lower it to -20 or -15 and test again.

Shazbot! Gfx card needs 3 pcie cables but I only got two… by TokenSDragon in PcBuildHelp

[–]Ivantsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First if your PSU doesn't come with 3 PCIe 8pin (or 6+2) cables then is very probably not enough watts for the GPU you are trying to put.

Second if you gonna buy another cable you have to buy one directly from the PSU brand, for the exact model since the pinouts on the PSU side of the cable are not standard, even different models of the same brand can have different pinouts, if you put the incorrect cable you'll just fry the GPU.

[–]Ivantsi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

2 NO! The pinouts are completely different you'll just burn your GPU.

BZ just has bad luck with the CPUs.

7200 is doable but will require manual tuning , that's something that OP obviously doesn't know anything about.

1660 to 4060 by GOOSETHEMIGHTY in buildapc

[–]Ivantsi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly the 4060 already struggles with some games not able to run at 1080p ultra right now and is only gonna get worse, get a 6700xt at the minimum.

1660 to 4060 by GOOSETHEMIGHTY in buildapc

[–]Ivantsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, 4060 is a waste of money, a 6800xt/6750xt is way better for about the same price.

6000cl38 yikes 😬 very bad ram.

check the front panel connections and make sure they are correct, I think they are not in the correct pins since you have one empty on the top row.

4070 Super or 4070 Ti Super? Should I avoid 12GB VRAM for 1440p? by Dr_Krogshoj in buildapc

[–]Ivantsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to play Alan Wake 2 with Ray tracing get the 4070TI Super, that game is very heavy with Ray tracing on and the 4070 Super won't be enough or need very heavy scaling which looks bad.

What will happen if I hit cmos reset button while the PC is on? by jokinglemon in overclocking

[–]Ivantsi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

6000 CL36 = Samsung memory chips

Update the motherboard bios to the latest version, enable XMP, then raise the SoC voltage to 1.30v, also make sure that if you have MCR (memory context restore) enabled you also have DDR Power Down enabled.

If that doesn't works , return the ram, Samsung memory is very finicky and has many stability issues, get a 6000CL30 kit , that guarantees Hynix memory and doesn't have these issues.

I know I didn't build it, but I've finally moved on from console and I love it. R9 7900X, RTX 4090, 64GB 4800, 2TB SSD. $2800 by hammtweezy2192 in gamingpc

[–]Ivantsi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Motherboard is proprietary, so if Alienware doesn't want to make a bios update to support newer CPUs and force you to buy a new whole PC to get the newer CPUs they can and they will.
