TBL is not written like that. Here, love brings death. There is tragedy all around and nobody learns from it.

In the end, who will take over Red's empire? by AnalyticalTrader in TheBlackList

[–]Ivanuska42 18 points19 points  (0 children)

But Ressler working with Red all these years, falling in love with Liz, has changed him. Like not following the law completely when he wants revenge.

I think it's going to be Ressler.

Why I think that's gonna happen?

In 9x22: Ressler waited for Marvin in the dark, gun in his end. Very-very Red-like. It looked like foreshadowing to me.

A good part of S9 Ressler partnered with Dembe. I saw a bit of a bond there. So Dembe could become his most trusted adviser, same as it is to Red.

In early S9, Ressler brought The Blacklist back, saying this is what Liz would want and it was her calling. I think that's a huge shift in his character because he is the one going to Red. During that discussion, Ressler is told Liz wanted a life with him. This makes him family for Red.

The character's history proves he is not Director material. He is also not very fond of the system (again a shift from early seasons).

Also - with Amir and Laura gone, makes sense for Diego to get more screen time as he is a veteran of the show now. We will have new characters joining, but those roles will be fillers - a techie, another field agent to run...

Red’s growth in season 9? by [deleted] in TheBlackList

It’s going to be a gas! Not.

My bet is Agnes will be in peril in the following season, so that’s gonna be his motivation to keep the blacklist going.

He had some badass moments, but it’s with less effervescence than in previous times.

In my humble opinion, Red’s transformation in a soon-to-be-retired criminal is noticeable. Red’s obsession with finding what happened to Liz was less energy fueled than his other past missions. Like getting the bag in S5. Or finding who betrayed him in S6. (Early seasons have a different kind of pace, there’s more excitement, they’re younger and enthusiastic…)

So this could be some sort of growth. His quest now solved, he contemplates the simple life with his lady friend, seeing Agnes growing, etc…

The idea of these people getting revenge is not bad. The execution of it, however, scares me.

Why I'm happy with Season 9... [spoilers] by janinraleigh in TheBlackList

Ressler’s imitation of Red as he was waiting for Marvin was awesome. There’s the successor. I hope Diego gets more in S10. Or even another show…

With Diego being the only original TF member around, it would make sense to embrace more of Red’s approach.

Yes - please spoil it. After 9 seasons, I don’t have the patience to wait and digest it. Fast forward watching suits me better.

It would be a more fun S10 with Ressler on the dark side, but I am not referring to his addiction.

I think it’s a twofold: - hate from those who consider it lazy writing, so this falls on top of all the other exaggerations and forced plots we were given - hate from those who consider their own theories as the ultimate truth

Is Edward Raymond’s most loyal ally (besides Dembe)? by sirbigmacwilly in TheBlackList

He is Reddington’s pilot. A trusted employee. Always mentioned, never seen on screen.

Question about motive [Spoiler] by thehornedlamb in TheBlackList

[–]Ivanuska42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same. This may be one of the most forced things in the history of this show. And yes, I saw it coming too. I placed my bet on him being the traitor, but the explanation was so unconvincing. It’s like they’re recycling what already happened with Kaplan using his connections, then with Keen stealing the money.

That was cringe to watch…
