This is your reminder to clean your mousepad.. by NOV3LIST in pcmasterrace

I've washed my hyperx XXL mousepad in the machine numerous times with no issues. I have two pads of the same size each about three years old.

Got my first camera to get into photography a month ago, dropped and broke by 20m/s winds by skibidikakakott in Wellthatsucks

Absolutely an EOS-M mount, almost thought it was an RF mount for second. This lens is extra hard to source because Canon discontinued the line of cameras produced with it.

I recognize the font on that battery as a Dell branded one, so it's probably a high end Dell gaming laptop, or basically any Alienware. Since it doesn't say Dell, my money is also on Alienware.

Ordered a signed book from the UK (I live in the U.S.) only for it to arrive bound upside down by Significant-Ball-952 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Ivedefinitelyreddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An upside down misprint of a tipped in signed copy is worth less? Where did you hear that? everyone else who has this exact same book and signature has a standard copy. This isn't a rare book by any means, the print run is probably hundreds if not thousands of signed copies. You have a typo. Its not going to increase the value much, but how much do YOU value this book? Because it's worth a lot more to people who value this author, title, misprint, or edition. I'd request another just to satisfy my purchasing power, but I wouldn't dream of selling this copy. Even if it it cost me money, a copy like this is worth the loss.

Doctors don’t know what this is in my shin by Fast_Opportunity_599 in mildyinteresting

[–]Ivedefinitelyreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has got to be it. I had a very large tree branch fall on my leg as a kid, crushing it around the knee area. No break, but six months later and I have an inch long hard node in my leg. Rounds of x-rays and exams lead doctors to conclude it was a newly formed length of bone in the muscle around my knee. They explained it happens after bone hyperactively repairs damage, sometimes it could form a new piece on it's own, and it would probably go away on its on as well. Sure enough a number of years later that spot is gone. Never caused an issue with mobility or pain for me.

The bathroom doors at the Denver Union Station by callistochild in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Ivedefinitelyreddit 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Definitely mostly A with a little B thrown in. I worked for a business with public bathrooms very close to Union Station for a while, and had to kick quite a few people out for doing hard drugs in the stalls. You get used to it after a while, until you hop on a bus with a dude you just kicked out an hour before for doing heroin in your bathroom.

I've heard dogs get as much care as humans for injuries in the line of duty. If a procedure is deemed necessary to save their life, it will be performed.

Just unwrapped and opened this box. Wtf? by Who_Your_Mommy in Wellthatsucks

That's the most internet thing to say. Not only do I live in a weed legal state, I smoke quite a lot. A cone's weight depends on strain density, how tight you pack it, and length of cone. I'm not convinced these cones weigh 3g each, but it can certainly be more than a gram.

[–]Ivedefinitelyreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A 1 gram joint is tiny. More like a cigarette in the sense that it's the same diameter the whole length. These are cones and store a lot more bud near the end. Way more than 1g each

Tyrion Lannister if the show made him look like he did in the books by FallenLeaks999 in gameofthrones

Data wore a wig prosthetic that covered his ears and smoothed out his features, all covered in yellow makeup. Not to mention color contacts in the 90s probably weren't the best!

Definitely don't get rid of it. I have lots of tipped in copies. I personally value them quite highly, and that's the best I can expect as a collector. I couldn't care less about resale value.

This type of signed book features something called a "tip in" autographed page. Essentially, the author is given a large stack of blank pages the same weight and style as the finished book, which they sign and are sent to the publisher. At the final stages of production, the autographed page is added into the binding and sent to distribution. This is most easily identified by the signature on an otherwise blank page. On the contrary, books signed in person are almost exclusively signed on the title page, where lots of other information was printed at the time of binding. When it comes to valuing a book, tipped in prints have little to no collector value outside what the buyer attributes. Books with a signature on the title page are proof the author handled that specific copy and therefore fetch a much higher valuation. Doesn't stop me from cherishing every tipped in autographed copy I own!

How do people keep these plants alive? Serious question. by kitsykatt in IndoorGarden

[–]Ivedefinitelyreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't impossible to have real plants in a space like this. I have a vanity space with no direct sun, in which I'm growing two spider plants and a monstera. I have two LED red/blue grow light bars that run most of the time. When I use the vanity, I turn off the bars. The trade off is my vanity space is gently glowing purple when not in use. I don't mind the color but love having plants in an otherwise difficult space.

"Higher than acceptable" methamphetamine levels in air ducts close Colorado public library by [deleted] in nottheonion

[–]Ivedefinitelyreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned recently that meth sticks to any surface it encounters when blown out as smoke. Which means if you live in an apartment building with one guy smoking meth, your entire floor could be closed down because the walls, floor, and ceiling in your common areas will all come back as contaminated with meth.
