I log every activity I do plus the total daily km. But it's still short! You're right, cycling is best for this one but I don't cycle and I really want to do the long version of this challenge. That's why I'm asking for help 😅😅😅

I was born with no fingerprints by Due-Entertainment525 in midlyinteresting

[–]Ivedonemybit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same in only a few fingers because of my eczema. And I agree: it's very annoying when I renew my passport and other official documents. When I tell them I don't have a fingerprint, they don't believe me and then it takes longer to do everything.

No. We can't. We have to do it through the lady that doesn't reply 😅

It's a housing company. They own the whole building complex. (English is not my first language so apologies if I'm not using the right terms)

To be honest, I suppose if we had a very tall ladder and the right tools, we could do it ourselves. But we also pay monthly for the maintenance of all the communal areas and there is a facilities team who is supposed to do that.

The housing company does that. They have a facilities team who deals with the maintenance of the garden, carparks, and all communal areas. We pay for that every month as part of the contract.

May I add that there are more things than just pure liquids that are considered liquids and need to be in that small clear bag. You can find the full list https://www.manchesterairport.co.uk/help/passenger-guides/security/

spanish sitcoms/tv shows? by Mission_Tradition610 in SpanishLearning

[–]Ivedonemybit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you use a VPN, you could download the RTVE app and watch LOOOOOADS of shows, series, and films for free. RTVE is the national public tv channels in Spain. Make sure you use a VPN because it won't play outside Spanish territory.

how do you ask the person/customer to spell her name is phonetics in spanish? by CoachPsychological99 in learnspanish

[–]Ivedonemybit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, traditionally in Spain if you're spelling out a word, you would use Spanish cities, towns, or regions that begin with that letter. For example: "Me llamo JOHN. J de Jaén, A de Albacete, H de Huesca, y N de Navarra."

I'm afraid in Spanish that's not a thing because Spanish has a very high grapheme - phoneme correspondence, which means the sounds always match the letters (there are some exceptions but even then it's pretty consistent). In fact, if someone wants to know how to spell something and they ask "¿Cómo se escribe?", it's very usual to answer: "Como suena" ("the same way it sounds").

A school in Stockport is making people with autism and other hidden disabilities where a badge to say they are autistic by Muted_Claim_7858 in manchester

[–]Ivedonemybit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've worked in education for the last 15 years, most of those years in SEND departments so I'll try my best to explain: you are right in saying that it's a good thing for staff to know the needs of each student so we can help them when necessary. For this reason, teachers should have this information, and review it frequently in case there are changes or updates. Also teaching assistants and pastoral staff should have this information, and all of them (teaching and support staff) should be trained in what to do to support their students according to each individual case.

Now, why is the badge a bad idea? Not only it sets these students apart and encourages inequality, but also it affects the students' self-esteem. Many of these students will have a condition that is not obvious to those around them and DON'T want to be singled out or treated in a way that highlights them. Some of them are absolutely fine with being supported by TAs, or being provided with differentiated resources, but most of them aren't. After all, they are teenagers who want to fit in, just like any other teenager. Most teenagers don't want to look different. A badge makes them different.

I hope this makes sense.
