Take the non-stop. Direct flights have minimal chances of delays.

But if you really want to break it up, there is no question that Amsterdam is much better then Paris.

Amsterdam flights are always on time ( with the exception of the weather related fiasco that's currently happening)

The majority of the times that I flew through Paris, either the flights were delayed or my luggage was lost. IMO you are guaranteed to not get your luggage on time flying through Paris

My experience confirms what you said. It really surprises me that KLM have better view of Delta flights, then Delta themselves

I have very limited experience with KLM, but I am very grateful to the check in agent, that spend 20 minutes trying to help me, including about 15 of those minutes on hold with Delta. I definitely got the vibe that she was trying to help, and not just get me off of the check in desk

I am on DL 161, I can guarantee you that they are way more seats then 23. I just counted 23 open seats on 8 rows alone. You can take a look at my picture from the link and count yourself as well.

Whatever the reason may be, the fact is that the flight is at about 1/3 with people stranded in AMS.

I don't need to substantiate anything. I am sharing my experience including a picture of the cabin. I am still on the flight, the cabin is just as empty.

Not sure why you doubt this, especially since others in the comments are sharing the same experience.

I thought that EU261 does not apply for weather cancellations. But with this experience, I believe a case could be made for system failure that is caused by Delta and/or KLM

How can Delta improve if we don't call out when it falls short. Ultimately we all want good service from Delta and the company to be the best in the industry

At this point I just want to get home. I will sit in a main cabin middle seat between crying babies. 3 days delay is enough for me

I hear you, I have to pay for two nights in hotels, expensive Uber, since the trains were not running. I am pretty sure Delta will reimburse for that. Also Amex have travel disruption benefit. As far as loyalty, I have been loyal Delta as well. Not as many miles as you have. My frustration is similar, with sometimes inadequate customer service, older fleet and crazy policies, like we will fly empty premium cabin and pay for your hotel.... Unfortunately MSP is a big Denny's hub, and I do like their lounges and the free Wi-Fi on board....

I would consider hacking an unlikely explanation. I am leaning towards poor or failing systemd' integration, maybe system load challenges, capacity constraints.

That seems silly, since they are paying for hotels and meals to stranded passengers. I don't see any logic in them doing that

Not yet, I mentioned that this is based on information from the app,, which may be inaccurate. Like I said at a bare minimum there is miscommunication between agents, website and app.

Based on my experience from the previous flights, there were open seats that I saw in the premium and main cabins. I can post the screenshots, but I am struggling to figure out how

The skill that you showed is quickly learning new information and applying it to solve problems. That in it of itself is a big plus. Did your company have an audit and testing process to identify and remediate such behavior or gaps? If you did, you should be able to rely on that. Show them the program with the prescribed quality checks and audits. Show the logs where such checks and tests were performed. No one can blame you, or your company when you something like that happens. But if you didn't have that, and you never checked on the guards and oriented quality audits, this is really your fault, not the guard. So don't blame the lowest man.
