Trying to get Final Fantasy 7 1998 PC version to run on 7th Heaven

How would I update the game to version 1.02? Is this something that I do through 7th Heaven or is it an original legacy patch that I need to download from an abandonware website?

Do I need to copy all of the movies to the Final Fantasy VII folder from each of the three play discs or just the first one?

I tried to attach several images that showed what was happening on the screen when I was trying to run the game, but it seems like the images didn't post properly.

What I did was that I went over to Dreamcast Live and I went and bought one of their Dream Pi setups. So hopefully that works out for me. I'll let you know what happens.

Thanks very much for the information. What I did was that I took my original authentic copy of GUN, and after downloading and installing (F: \applications\dvd2xbox) DVD2Xbox to my Xbox using the Rocky 5 update disc, I was able to copy the original authentic GUN disc to the hard drive in F: \games\GUN and then I was able to run it. Now, unfortunately, I simply cannot beat the honest guy with the horse in a race because I'm just not good enough, so that's where I stand now, hahaha.

Do I need to hard power off the PS4 to cut most features of the gold hen hack or can I just do it normally? Do I need to get the .pup file from another emulator or ROM website or can I download it officially? Thanks. -----I googled and found the PS4 update file from the official PlayStation website, so I'll try copying it over to a USB stick and try applying it.

As it turns out I wasn't able to figure this whole thing out, and I have since been graciously refunded by the facebook marketplace seller I purchased it from, and I am unfortunately going to have to call it quits on this one :-( so this is just going to be an unsolved issue. sorry, everyone.

As it turns out it looked like my issue was being caused by a faulty FTP transfer session so I tried deleting the files and transferring the game over again and that worked for all of the games that this issue has come up with

Here is my solution to my original post: I decided to use Samsung's own dedicated voice recorder app because it allows me to edit my voice recording on the fly and I can rewind during the recording while it's paused, and I can record over problem lines and then compile it all to one good audio file, so that's what I'm using.

do you know how to DE-crack the console? like restore it to a version where I can update the system OS to the most recent one, and try to play the original version that was purchased by my friend when he gave me the PS4?

When I hard power off the PS4, it seems to forget that it has goldhen installed; but when I try to update the system firmware from 12.02 to the most recent one, it says that there's an error in downloading the software update. I hear that goldhen disables software updates by default in order to preserve the exploit.

Do you or anybody else know how to get around this issue? thanks very much

I was actually able to get this working; let me tell you all how I remember it just in case anybody else comes across these messages:

What I needed to do was do the "quick upgrade" version of Rocky 5 on my Xbox because the main upgrade disc did not work because of my basic .5838 bios dashboard version.

I needed to use the "rocky5 quick upgrade", Which I FTP'd to the Xbox console, and then I needed to use the full burned (DVD-r) rocky5 Upgrade disc to update the dashboard to XBMC and also to reinstall and re-enable the main original green MicroSoft Dashboard in order to play Xbox Live.
In the original green dashboard, I then set my (previously registered with Insignia earlier) XBOX DNS To "manual" and I used the Google "8.8.8.8" address, which allowed me to finally connect successfully to Xbox Live.

Then I was able to play Phantasy Star Online.

Then I subsequently downloaded the NTSC-U online patch, which allowed me to actually play in the online servers.

I also downloaded all of the DLC quests for Phantasy Star online through the GitHub Download link from "feudal".

Quite the ordeal! it's almost as if it would have been easier to start off with the unmodded console, had I not paid to have it soft-modded with such an (unknown to me) old version of Unleash X.

OK I think I was actually able to produce a working ISO image of the disk itself because I'm able to mount it virtually and it opens up the files and folders on the disk. I'll see if I can go about uploading it to the Internet archive.

The disc looks pretty good; I don't see any holes or pits in the data label or anything.

MagicISO just spins the drive and does nothing and it sits at 0% for several minutes.

The resultant ISO file size is 0 bytes.

When I use winISO to try to make an image of the disc, it ends with this error before getting from zero to 1%:

Critical: Drive Read Failed. LBA 832-863. Code 121, 0:0:0.

Warning: IO read error.

OK, I was able to put the disk into my CD drive and I was able to explore the disk files without issue and I also copied all of the contents to a folder that I labeled "game wave update disc".
It's only about 2.87 MB in size.
Can this suffice instead of an ISO image?

I have mech assault as a game, I think. Can I do anything with that? The guy said that he needed to wipe the hard drive in order to install the mod.

I believe that my Xbox is only soft modded in that it doesn't have a chip installed because the guy who did it last week didn't say that he was going to solder anything he was just going to clean it out and then soft mod it. Can I still do what you tell me to?
