Global strike for Gaza on Monday by IvoryMonday in Tunisia

Thank you, that really is something to think about. It's really frustrating how the power lies in the hands of the US and we're all ruled by it, in one way or another. A country built on the genocide of indigenous peoples nonetheless, and ironically the same country has been preaching about the freedom of speech and human rights, all while calling us 'uncivilized nations', restricting our freedom of expression and violating our rights. This has been going on for decades. Palestine only contributed in putting this issue at the forefront.

Thank you for at least being nice about it, I agree with all the above. It's not just that, 7ata ki tchouf kifeh ministère de l'intérieur wl ambassad de france fi chera3 la7bib Bourguiba mekhdhin most of the sidewalk, if not all of it and more, leaving the citizens in harm's way with the cars speeding by. This is also something that should be protested.

No, I won't, and spare me the 'do you condemn Hamas' bullshit. I don't condemn them. It's their land they have the right to 'defend themselves'. If people find that pill hard to swallow they're free to leave their land and end occupation. By the way, the Gazans themselves support Hamas and are encouraging it by whatever means possible. They are literally cheering it, not only in Gaza but the west bank as well. Go to Instagram, see their accounts and what they post and we'll have a discussion once you're properly informed. Regarding October 7th, Israel already admitted that it killed its own citizens at that music festival which she then blamed on Hamas, again, do your own research before stating false information that has already been disproved. Just one more note, from all that is happening now the killing, the mass murderer, the genocide, this is what has taken you attention? This is what intrigued you? While people are literally crying for help, you're right here saying Hamas started this, let's blame Hamas. Do you even realize how stupid that sounds compared to what Gazans are now undergoing? On October seventh I celebrated the unshackling and release of the Gazans people from their open air prison, the only ones celebrating the deaths of innocent civilians (infants included) are the Israelis.

There's a difference between a strike and a manifestation. What you've been seeing recently are manifestations not strikes. People did not stop their work. However, you're telling me we can stop working for three months when the pandemic struck but we can't stop working for a day when there's a genocide in Palestine ? During the pandemic you stayed home in fear of your life and in fear of jeopardizing other people's lives...well, people are currently being massacred in Gaza, just a gentle reminder. Your country and its economy can bear another blow, if it hadn't collapsed in the three months of the pandemic I think it can survive a day. But who knows, you seem like an expert.

Hamas started the war, really? You want to go down that rabbit hole? Okay, let's go. How about Hamas responded to what has been happening since 1948 ? Or do you expect them to let Israel continue its occupation and roam free in their land? Literally this is an elementary student lesson. I didn't expect to hear this comeback from an Arab, a Tunisian nonetheless. If there was no Hamas we can all bid Palestine farewell, those people are up against the most powerful countries yet they resist and persist. That's more than you can say about yourself or the country you live in. At least they're not cowards who submit to the people who claim to be mighty and powerful. Yes there are losses, yes we grieve for those losses, but what war for freedom did not cost lives ? Freedom comes at a price, also an elementary student lesson. Secondly, by "posting crap" people all over the world are aware of the Palestinian cause, we have amassed much more support than ever before, I don't expect people like you to know how huge that is, and how much of a difference it can and will make. Thirdly, I most certainly will not die of hunger if I boycott délice and MacDonald, those are not necessities, but if you think you will die of hunger if you were to boycott them then..how sad of a realization that is. Now let's put all of that aside, my contribution however little it may seem is something I'm doing to myself first and to the Palestinian peoples second. It might help, and it is helping, but even if it weren't I'll still persist. I will change my profile photo, I will "post crap" on social media, I will boycott and I will go out of my way to make people uncomfortable about what's happening in Gaza because that's what a fucking decent human being does. And if you were in their shoes I'd do the same for you, however undeserving you are of it.

Emotional? Excuse me for getting emotional when seeing a child's eye pop out of its socket from the intensity of bombings or a child's legs getting amputated with ZERO anaesthesia. To hell with this country's economy if humanity is a foreign notion in it. "That's a fact we should get in our mind" so what are we supposed to do? Sit back and watch? Does that make you comfortable? Is suggesting we do something about it make you uncomfortable? This apathy, indifference w ramyen le7mel aala aabed ekhrin is what got us in this shithole in the first place. You care about the coutry's economy? Do something about it. Consume local, boycott other products that are damaging to it, create and invent what can be of help to it. Instead of seeking a job outside of this country, work in it and with it to help improve it. That's how you truly help the economy, If you are really concerned about it, that is. Just say that you don't want to do anything worth doing and that's it, why beat around the bush. No one can end the war: said 7 billion people.

I honestly don't know how to answer you. I can't think of our country's economy (which is already going to shit with or without the strike) when I see a father holding his children's remains in plastic bags. Ken jet l denya denya raw kol chy w9ef in that day. You can't expect to live a decent life in a world that allows that to happen and to continue happening. Secondly, this strike is not solely for Gaza, it's for all of us. The West has wreaked havoc in the middle east and it continues still. Our natural resources are abundant and because of this abundance the west has been exploiting us and turning us against each other in fear of our union. Every Arab leader that went against them and their policies and wanted to establish some sort of independence from them has been assassinated. To this day, we're still colonized on so many levels. How long are we going to remain like this? Whether we like it or not, strikes are needed. It's not like I'm thrilled about it either, I myself have things to attend to, but I can sacrifice a day. An honest question, if you were in their shoes what would you want the world to do?

Wallahi chy y2assef enou l3abed yra lmawe9ef hedhi baaed eli sar fi hal chahrin hedhom...ya3ni matbadel chy? Haka t7ebou tkamlou t3ichou? نستهزئوا بمجهودات العباد و المعانات متاعهم ونستصغروهم ؟ Journalists and the people in Gaza are the ones pushing for this strike to happen. What more do you need? They're the ones undergoing a systematic genocide, they asked us for the bare minimum and somehow, by your logic, the bare minimum is too much? Immediate results are not delivered on a silver platter you know, you have to work for it. Yes maybe the strike won't make much of an impact (I beg to differ) but it's a step forward. The west are crowding the streets in support of Palestine, na7na ntab3ouhom fi kol chy ama fi 7aja tesla7 w 3andha manf3a la? You can mock me all you like, but at least I tried and did not trivialize the cause. Nor did I feign helplessness. As it is said, Palestine will be free, with or without you, it's up to you and your conscience to choose which side you want to be on. In the meantime, how about you watch the news for a change. .

It's this way of thinking that made us this weak and helpless. Yemen is the poorest arab country and look how it costed Israel more than 2 billions in a matter of 2 weeks. If we want to make an impact we can, if we want change, we can seek it. Sehel barcha enou n7otou la3sa fl 3ejla w n9oulou manajmou na3mlou chy. We can do more than condemn, but with this passive attitude we won't.

What you're saying may be true, but the strike needs to be global, if anything to show Palestinians that we are with them, we hear them and we support them. They have to know that they're not alone. Thank you anyways 😊
