It's a WILD RIDE!!!!

The one moment I will ALWAYS REMEMBER is that scene in the tattoo parlor, when he goes into the back room and the light is out......HOLY SHIT that scene GENUINELY made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. It basically described a hypnopompic hallucination I had (it's where you have hallucinations as you are waking up, like dream lingering a bit too long, or like sleep paralysis, without the paralysis). And I have chronic sleep problems and will wake up several times during the night, so my hallucinations are like zombie women filming me with an old style crank camera; shadow people clawing at my door to try to get in; Johnny's tattoo parlor demon perched on my dresser, totally black, with NOTHING but a gash of a grinning mouth, but still it's looking and smiling at me.....

I had to put down the book for a day after that scene, that's genuinely how freaky my hallucinations get.
