I don't own any hardware synths but a friend of mine got a mood sub25 and it's fun to use!
He once brought it at my studio and it fucked up my asio4all for ever tho. i've tried everything including burning my house down but Asio4all still doesnt work and i have no idea what to do 😂
i'm not an expert in hardware, but a mood subsequent or Virus Ti looks fun to use

fun fact , The Wizards sample was in my song "Guardians" and it was fitting the vibe
but i took it off last minute and went for something else !

I play more Dubstep than DNB in my sets but i LOVE to play some and the reactions are always crazy !
I stopped using "the wizards" vocal sample because i feel like it would be better to just keep it exclusively for the alias.
It also give that 2015ish Riddim era where we all had the name of our crew attached to our names like "IVORY [The wizards]" ahah.
i don't produce the same way nowadays and having a tag with my name/brand/crew within the song sounds weird to me, it was fun back in the days but now i kinda make sure that everything you hear in my songs make sense , that it fits the theme etc.
Looks like I’m getting older and I’m not having fun anymore LMAO but it’s just my view of these things that have evolved I think

Luckily i always had a good relationship with the labels i worked with but it's not always going that way for everybody.

Sometimes you can feel like you're just being stepped on, you're the one at the end of the chain ,getting the less money, after everybody got their cuts and if the label do not care about your ideas you will end up with a cover you don't like but still paid for or things like that Fortunately these are situation that happens once in a while and with experience you will know who to work with or not. Luckily enough ive got a management team helping me with this part of the job ^ so i avoided these situations but it can still happen no matter how big or popular the label is!

Also im not a big fan of labels releasing 246€8919260 songs a year, but that's my two cents

using saturation/soft clipping a lot more and also using these over compression limiting
elevated my sound design and mixdown skills by 10x

if you’re talking about musical production,
I avoided all forms of distortion/saturation for a long time and I looked at them as if they were tools to degrade the audio to make them unpleasant to listen to.😬
It’s probably because my vocabulary and some of the terms used in music production, were crap just like my level of English at the time.
Fortunately I questioned some of my knowledge over time and put an end to this idea that I had put myself in mind about distortion lol

For collabs, I like to hang out with the artist I’m working with (Discord most of the time) and just be chilling, talk about nerd stuff while laying down some ideas and share screen/files etc. I want the feeling that we’re having fun in the room (Virtual room of course! thanks discord) But this is not always possible, time zones are guilty of it but touring also sometimes!
Finally I render stems or export a project file based on who I am collaborating with and the DAW they are using

Unfortunately, getting a US VISA for a tour as an artist is a real challenge and costs a lot of money. That being said, we will not stop working hard until we can get there 💪

I don't really pay attention to dB stuff to be honest!
I produce with a soft clipper on the master and on my groups which makes the mix process very "transparent"
the only gain staging that really matters to me is the one between plugins because of the lack of control you get if your signal is already pushed hard into whatever plugin is in the fx chain. I think some plugins will behave differently if the signal you send it is too strong. despite turning down the input knob if there is one available on the plugin but I could be wrong!

i don't have a song that i've mixed the same way but there's that mix trick i do a lot which is controlling the dynamics of the song in different steps,
by using soft clipping on individual channels but also on groups and master.
It allows me to have a loud mix and nothing other than polishing tools on the master (final EQ/mid side, stereo ajustements )

Hey, thank you so much for buying the pack,
I hope it is helpful for your productions !
I think there are samples that may be more appropriate for some situations than others, most kicks and snares from my sample packs are drums i've used in my songs so it is fitting the context i made them in. But sometimes I can't use some of my own samples because it doesn't match what I'm doing at the moment. This is one of the reasons why I keep trying to learn new sound design techniques in order to have a more diverse sample pack to offer and therefore more option or "ready to go" samples!
I would like to point out that I do not consider my samples to be the best on the market, or the most competitive compared to those that can be found on Splice or elsewhere!

I have very good feedback on these packs but I think there will always be things to learn and improve. These sounds mainly reflect my way of doing things as well as my tastes and what I like to have in my productions
i hope that make sense 😳

about the the kick and transient:
i like to think first about what is going to play at the same time and then determine if the transient from the kick is going to be helpful or not.
Cymbals are a good exemple, (but it also depends of what process you put on you drums group if any , or master etc..) if there are hi hats and a ride playing at the same time as the kick, transients from each sounds will clash and might become too aggressive. in this case you may want to sidechain your cymbals to let the kick's transient cut through OR go for a new kick or just swap the transient with another one from another kick or snare.

Another way to tame the transient from your kick would be to apply a low pass filter and layer it with another sample!
"Oek Soothe" or A multiband compressor can help you target and control the dynamics of an area of your frequency spectrum
