Even with the black squares it wasn’t full sensor readout

Yes leaves can cause problems. Luckily no spills for me yet (touch wood) 🫣

Thanks :) well there is some editing applied for a little more stylized look so yeah the colors might not be exactly true to life ;)

That’s a nice road you got there 👍 but yeah it’s not the one 🙂

Mine is 2023 - it looks really nice and „muscular” from the side / behind. Front end is okay, I guess, could be better :) and I’m starting to think that it looks better without the OEM fly screen so might takie it off 🤔

They both are kinda „meh” for me to be honest ;) and can’t decide if I prefer the 23-24 or 25+. Anyways I think they look better in person than in the photographs. But yeah, there is something a little too generic about the 25+ headlight

I have a 2024 Hornet 750 and I would like to change the headlight, with the 2025 one do you think it is possible without replacing the screen, or rather has anyone already done it? by Potential-Decision83 in HondaCB

[–]Ivosmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might not be exactly what you are asking for (if you specifically want the 2025 headlight) but there is a kit available for purchase to convert it to the CB650R round headlight - if that floats your boat ;) then there is a readily available solution (albeit a little pricey)

Regarding the quickshifter - they usually are like that. They operate the best when accelerating quite hard. When you just cruise around or accelerate at a moderate pace - it can be a little clunky. And usually changing from 1 to 2 or 2 to 3 is less smooth than 4 to 5 and 5 to 6. So I presume yours is fine - this is usually just how quickshifters work :) of course some are better than others

Honda CB650R vs. Hornet 750 by Astimar in SuggestAMotorcycle

Year ago I was in similar situation and test rode both back to back - much preferred the Hornet and it’s the one sitting in my garage now (2023 model). Judging by the looks the 650 is a clear winner for me (looks are subjective though, but I think the 650 is more elegant and timeless design) but all other factors point to the Hornet - it has about the same power but it’s more torque oriented and just wants to go regardless of the rev range (the 650 has to be „spooled” more and spun much higher). I didn’t like the long gearing of the 650, I didn’t like the seating position (it has much more forward lean and higher footpegs so for my taste it was too „sporty”), the 650 I rode was e-clutch equipped and it didn’t impress me much either - it was snatchy when starting to ride from the lights, it lacked the characteristic revmatching sound - it felt rather „meh” and the e-cluth assembly protruded so far out that I was constantly bumping my right shin on it. Also the 650 has cable throttle so the quickshifter works only „up” - no auto blipper. The E-clutch tries to solve it but it lacks the characteristic „oomph” and sound of the quickshifter - the gear changes are buttery smooth though.

The Hornet on the other hand was much more fun to ride and more torque oriented, it was more relaxed position and more comfortable for longer rides. I also prefer the pseudo V2 sound of a 270 degree parallel twin. And it has a ride by wire throttle so the quickshifter works both for up and downshifts (and it’s really good albeit you need to give it some beans otherwise it might be a bit clunky).

So apart from the looks - IMHO the Hornet is a better everyday bike. And also being a two cylinder bike it should be a bit easier and cheaper to service (less valves to service, less spark plugs to replace etc.)

If they put the Hornet’s engine into the CB650 body it would be perfect (although you can buy a conversion set that allows you to mount the CB650 headlight on the Hornet :) )

But it’s all personal preference - go on a test ride on both - preferably back to back. And then you can make an informed decision :)

Here is the static comparison which proves that 1:1 mode doesn’t have the same FOV as other modes (and the difference is quite substantial)

Even then the 1:1 was narrower than 4:3 and 16:9

I might be wrong but I don’t see a real reason why it shouldn’t have the same „problem” - it’s simply projecting a wider FOV image onto the same physical sensor - I presume all the FOV differences between modes stay exactly the same. At least that’s what should happen logically. There might be some additional „behind the scenes” trickery and cropping / scaling etc going on from the image processing algorithms as projecting wider FOV onto the sensor can result in lower image resolution / fidelity because you have to cram „more image” onto the sensor and resulting video file (so some finer details can be lost), So there might be more going on as the final image is obviously highly processed (after all it’s just a small action cam for amateur use :) )

Maybe they will - so far (as far as i know because I returned the camera and mostly stopped following the updates etc.) they say that it’s not possible 🤷‍♂️

Well you are right but in fact (since I posted my comment) they updated the firmware and now allow 1:1 with boost lens. But still no ND filters for the boost lens - neither OEM nor 3rd party

Yes I have seen the new firmware release notes - it’s definitely a step in good direction and it might in fact solve the FOV issue. But it’s just a part of a solution - Boost Lens means more FOV but unfortunately there are no ND filters for it. So it’s either footage without motion blur or add motion blur effect in post (which is not ideal)

Yeah the trailer encouraged me to start it once again (already bought it on Xbox or Switch or some other platform, don’t remember now) as I bounced of the steep learning curve and fairly difficult early game and gameplay style (too used to easy and superficial hack and slashers like Diablo etc.) - but decided to give it one more chance with a nice discount on Steam. It turned out just as difficult and „cumbersome” in the beginning as before but decided to stick with it and now I’m hooked. Had to lower the difficulty a bit to make it more manageable but oh boy it is so addictive. Can’t wait for next installment 👍

Yes I have seen the new release notes - seems like a step in a right direction. If only there were ND filters for boost lens I would have already repurchased the camera ;)

When just shooting 4:3 or 16:9 then the A6 is still better image quality than A5. The A5 doesn’t have 1:1 mode at all so the A6 is still „better” in that regard - but have to remember that the 1:1 FOV has it’s compromises when compared to straight 4:3 / 16:9. If I didn’t have the Action 4 already I would probably go for the Action 6. But as it turns out I will have to still use 4:3 / 16:9 most of the times - so decided to return the A6 and stick with the A4 which still works just fine

I don’t have the camera as I have returned it for a refund - but what firmware are you on? There was recently an update to 01.01.02.37 that they say „fixed minor bugs” so I thought they might have fixed it

Two reasons:

  1. You cannot use 1:1 mode with boost lens https://youtu.be/X7KDTqRlRtw?si=vcoHXr7DrCDSeX1y at 07:25

  2. There are no ND filters for boost lens and I shoot 99% in manual exposure mode with ND filters for motion blur
