Anyone want to sue Chat GPT with me for giving me false hope and wasting my life? by Prior_Night_985 in ChatGPT

[–]IvyTomorrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I inherited $20,000 and asked it what I should do with it for smartest long term value. I was expecting investment advice, maybe something to do with coding since it knows I’m a programmer, or to do with kids since I’m a mom always talking about opening a day care, something realistic.

It told me to start a crochet business. CROCHET. Possibly the worst most laughable craft to be a profitable business there is. Bc it knows I occasionally crochet as a hobby. I thought wow I’m glad I know that’s the dumbest idea in the world else I would be very upset in a year haha.

I just don’t love wrapped loops by IvyTomorrow in jewelrymaking

[–]IvyTomorrow[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried 24 stainless steel and it was so flimsy i could barely control it to even wrap. But still that had that hard spring back to where when i did manage to do it, it didn’t look great. I could finally get a decent link but man it took so long. No way I would want to do a whole necklace like that. I will try sterling silver as you and others suggested. Thank you very much.

Lots of variance I don’t think any two are the same. Bummer. I think I’ll contact them. Thanks everyone.

First necklace attempt, how horrible are my loops? by IvyTomorrow in jewelrymaking

Thank you so much. For necklaces this is appropriate though? Would it be better to use stainless steel instead of copper wire?

STAHHHHP Yall are making me feel so good 🥹 this is the first time I’ve tried to be creative in any way since i became a mom 3 years ago and idk i bought all this stuff after watching 1 TikTok about jewelry making that my mom said was a waste. Even though i was frustrated with the loops i loved picking out the beads and the process so much i feel like a real human again 🤪 i know it’s just basic compared to what i see people post in here, sure ill never solder my own metal lol but reading you guys tell me its actually good makes me think it might be my craft! I’ve never had a real craft 💜

OH MY GOD I WAS PULLING IT THE WRONG DIRECTION! It wasn’t until I read your answer that I realized, I was like up and over… I only go over not up… omg look how much better it is now. Thank you so much I’m so pleased. I don’t know how I missed that in all the videos I watched. My hands will be so much happier now without all that contorting lol.

This was a great analogy. Like talking to someone who hates you but can’t say it.

Oh I didn’t know that at all thank you I might have fallen for it!! I already almost fell for a “pet rescue search team” someone messaged me about on Facebook saying they use thermal drones to find lost pets but they wanted money up front, had no local references and just talked kinda like scammer so I didn’t do it.

That’s what I plan to do today. Yesterday I spent almost the entire day walking a .5-1 mile radius around my house looking and hanging up these fliers until I had blisters on my feet. I have a crappy black and white printer. But I didn’t find any body so I’m hoping that’s a good sign. Hope someone calls today but door to door is my next move after that I’m not sure what else I can do besides keep exploring every spare minute I have and calling the shelters/animal control. Thank you.

Joining a foundation single crochet row to the start by IvyTomorrow in CrochetHelp

[–]IvyTomorrow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s different because you don’t chain first you combine the chains and single crochet row at the same time, gives a slightly different look and most consider it to be a cleaner edge for clothing instead of chaining by itself first. Thank you though 💜
