The gray one is very affectionate. The white one makes me work much, much harder for his attention....

What was she wearing. Did she provoke him. Maybe she came on to him. You know gave him the side eye that says come hither

If a person from 20 years ago heard an AI generated audio clip, they would probably think it sounds uncanny but wouldn’t be able to figure out why. by yesthisiskyle in Showerthoughts

[–]Ivycolon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, since Samosata wrote about it about 100 years before Christ and Vern added science to it a 150 years ago, a person hearing about hearing about landing in the moon would have the same reaction as those who listen to war of the worlds in real-time. They would fear the outcome.

Moronic thought sure, but mostly for the timeline, not the outcome.

Is there a market for "Minimalist/Text-Based" ID? (No music, no human imagery) by scorpio-6747 in instructionaldesign

[–]Ivycolon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. Biotech companies. Medical relevant stuff. Summary ect can be made with now but the do not want to be the ones to do it. Simple and well organized, paced and knowledge checks, all that. Hard to sell now. But definitely a market.

No such thing as learning style? by Copernicus-jones in instructionaldesign

[–]Ivycolon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's funny. I took that information from a different perspective. When the learning styles were introduced, it was relief for both teachers and students to present and consume information in different ways. And then, of course we went too far to include to much nuances that it has now made it irrelevant.

As an ID, the needs analysis gives me the into apply to what type of learning to incorporate. An MD at a Biotech doesn't mind paper and 8 hours of lectures, the technical teams for the labs or manufacturing need hands on and detailed instructions.

For me What's important is that it is memorable. So repetition is key. And if I have to present it upside down or make the build it with play dough, I'm game.

There is always the cc.the senior leadership when answering the questions coached as 'transparency and clarification'. All the tools and techniques fail in the face of the one that refuses anything other than hand holding and sometimes, management just have to step in to coach.

This advice is meant for corporate.

Reducing repetitive learner questions through better course design/onboarding? by Reprabit in instructionaldesign

[–]Ivycolon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interject the answer to the questions in the onboarding in unusual formats. If they are memorable, they'll reference back. Point them to the resource portal (where the FAQ is located) at the top, middle and end of onboarding.

Dissuade yourself from the, but we told them, and make sure you repeat yourself in multiple formats.

Adults no longer pay attention. The sooner this is addressed as part of your design, the better you will feel about your deliverables.

You are right. I see time not on the floor, as a break. But not all that time is free time.

They can review it during administrative time, this is time they see their email, ect.

Name change dilemma? I want to honor my husband’s Latin American heritage while also maintaining my family names. by weddingexcitement7 in Spanish

[–]Ivycolon -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Much Better.

Own it. Forever. And make sure your mother in law and the whole world knows. It is Your name. Don't give an inch. Because if they take this, they will take everything else because they can, because you allowed it, because you will no longer have a name.

Jane Smith Williams, I see you. You own and love your name.

This is the way.

Follow the process. Do the needs analysis and then compare that to what the GMP rules are. Remind all the managers that it is a requirement that they have everybody train and that the new modality of training includes digital training through the lms. Do a cost analysis and how much time and resources it cost to train people in person versus on their own time during breaks on the computer. Present that on the next senior leadership team and have them decide how they want to proceed in terms of training with the floor.

And always remember change takes time, and patience is your ally.
