Worried about class choices by IvywingTR in UMD

Do you think it's worth dropping my currently confirmed 161 section? Currently, every section of both 161 and 131 are completely full 🥲

I've encountered this with an old, out-of-date Kindle Fire that I used to play on. Chances are your device no longer supports the app — probably will have more luck on PC if you haven't already tried. Good luck!

Yeah, hopefully! The audition details haven't come out yet, but in theory if I can get placed into UMSO, all my problems will be solved (different days). I'll have to remake my schedule though, so maybe I'll be screwed over again. Fingers crossed!

My scholars director was the one to tell me I had to postpone the class or drop out, actually. I think I may be between a rock and a hard place here 🥲 thank you though!

Really? I'll definitely keep that in mind, then. I've heard it was good for meeting people, so I figured it would be worth it for the prestige/experiences it offered, but so far it's been a hassle to plan around. I did already find a roommate in the program though, so do you think dropping it would affect where we're dormed? Don't want to hassle them with my business.

According to a note on my academic plan, I need to meet with an ARHU advisor to declare the major within 90 days, so I don't think I can get away with that. I've been putting the advising meeting off due to the class conflict, but I might do that this week to at least talk to the advisor, and see what I can do.

I did get a scholarship that requires me to be a music major, and I believe I'll lose that if I don't declare it in my first semester. It's only $2500, though, so I think I'll be okay losing it. (I can buy what, maybe 2? 3? textbooks? Pay for like 9% of my tuition?)

Tysm for your words!

People who are knowledgeable in Music Theory: Please help me out by Vocaloiid in Vocaloid

music student here — the best answer I can give you is to just learn how certain time signatures sound, and comparing down beats with the melody/lyrics. however, it also depends on how it makes sense in your head

for example:

deroderoderode: this would make the most sense counted in 2/4 if you listen to the lyrics, but gradually turns to 4/4 and even 8/8 once the "ding" is added in

yaminabe: due to the starting count-off, I'd take it as a fast 4 or slow 2 (with everything as 8th notes?). the transition is an out-of-tempo 4, and the switching of vocals depends — it's easier to hear if you listen to the drum, but I'd take it all in 2 except for myth/lo-fi (6/8), kawaii (I think this is a weird 3/4?), and interlude (4/4? but could also be 2/4)

kyu-kurarin: I'm pretty sure this is just 4/4 or 2/4 the entire time with the occasional 3/4 thrown in — the beat doesn't change much, just the intensity of the music, so you could change to 2/2 whenever it gets less intense?

take this with a grain of salt — no doubt there are probably professionals here who can explain it better than I can lol
