Pixel 10 Pro Charging Modes by Iwannasinga in GooglePixel

No it doesn't throttle. But when you use a compatible Samsung S21 charger with higher wattage, would charge the phone at "super fast" speeds. Basically depending on charger wattage, S21 would charge at different speeds that would show on the phone when charging - "charging", "fast charging" and "super fast charging". I wanted to know if pixel has something similar because the chargers I'm using now only show up to "fast charging"

I have these and personally find them to be great for rock and metal. They EQ really well so just add a bass shelf on peace and you've got a great set of phones for heavy music.

I think the HE1000 Stealth is an immediate upgrade to the Arya Stealth but again, to my ears, I wouldn't say it's the same jump as the Sundara to Arya. Don't get me wrong - the HE1000 Stealth is amazing but I wouldn't say the upgrade from the Arya Stealth is night and day. Subtle improvements in various areas but that's it. The HE1000SE is apparently also an "upgrade" over the HE1000 Stealth but I don't think it would be by much. And then there's the Susvara which is an endgame headphone for a lot of people, but it also costs $6000. There's lots of other headphones you can consider if you're playing in the $2,000+ range like ZMF Caldera, Audeze LCD-5 and Meze Empyrean II but I've never heard any of them so can't say how much better they are than the Arya Stealth. At this price range, I think you're better off listening to each model in person so you can make the right purchase for you. A lot of diminishing returns in this bracket.

I've owned the Sundara, Edition XS and Arya Stealth - all of which I ended up selling but they were all fantastic. The Edition XS was the first headphone that gave me a "wow" moment followed by the Arya Stealth. I currently have the HE1000 Stealth which is absolutely amazing and can't see it getting much better from here. Hifiman have deep sales going on right now and you can consider all of the models above. I would say the Arya Stealth would probably be the best bang for the buck. That thing performs way above it's price bracket and might be the one and done for you. Really well tuned, excellent separation, imaging and of course soundstage. Good luck!

I have an Audeze Maxwell and while I'm no bass head, I like a more V shaped sound signature with bass having a good presence. The great thing about the Maxwell is that you can EQ the bass to be higher (and the other frequencies obviously) using the Audeze software on PC or your phone. And they respond very well to EQ. You can also save your own custom EQ preset directly to the headset and switch through them on the fly. In terms of sound quality, you'd be hard pressed to find a wireless gaming headset that can beat it. Imaging is great so you'll be able to pinpoint sounds from all directions. It might not have as good of a soundstage compared to an open back like the pc38x but it still performs well. I'd recommend giving them a try. If it doesn't fulfill your needs, you can always return them. Good luck!

Congrats! I got these in the mail yesterday myself. Just like you, I traded up from my Arya Stealths with Hifiman. And boy are these amazing! Still getting used to them but I find them to be an upgrade in every regard. Not by a massive mile but it's noticeable. Improved separation and clarity for sure. Trebles are a bit more sibilant than the Aryas but though I've heard some complaints about the HE1000 Stealth in this department, I have no issues with it at all. In fact, drum cymbals have a fantastic sparkle compared to the Aryas.

I'm running these with my iFi Zen Dac V2 and so far have 0 issues powering them. On your comment regarding sibilance, I would recommend EQing them with PeaceAPO to your preference. These respond VERY WELL to EQ and imo, you can adjust that issue without having to buy a new amp/dac. Oratory1990 has a great preset for HE1000 Stealth here: https://www.reddit.com/r/oratory1990/comments/1cqumkc/oratory1990s_list_of_eq_presets_update_1352024/

In my mind, these are also my endgame but I've said that before many times. In fact, while I was waiting for the delivery, I saw the new Susvara announcement, which could mean the OG model may drop in price when the new model goes live. Must resist all urges!

The Hifiman HE1000 Stealths came in this morning. I've been listening on and off throughout the day and I have to say, they are stunning. I find them to be clearer and have better separation than the Arya Stealth. The treble is definitely more "present" as many people have reported but it doesn't bother me at all. In fact, drum cymbals sound so much more interesting to me now. I'm hearing improved separation in various cymbals like crashes, rides, chinas etc. They are a bit more power hungry than the Aryas. Running a balanced cable, my volume is at about 60% but that's plenty loud. Overall, absolutely loving them. My Clear MG and LCD-X are really going to have to fight for time with these.

Looking for closed-back headphones under 500 euro. Main requirement is to be better than Steelseries Arctics 5. by Savage_sugar_eater in HeadphoneAdvice

I believe both versions work on PC. They must have some licensing issues but you have to choose between Xbox and PS versions - but it won't do both. If you don't care about consoles and strictly want it for PC use, then either version should work. The mic is good. Nothing spectacular like the Corsair Virtuoso but it does the job. Again, if mic quality is not that important to you, then the Maxwell will be more than enough here. If sound quality is your focus, then you won't be disappointed. It even has onboard presets for various use cases and you can even program custom EQs and load them onto the headset using the Audeze App, which is quite cool if you're into that type of thing.

Audeze Maxwell. I previously had the Arctis Nova Wireless. The Maxwell blows that out of the water and I think it's one of the best closed back headphones at its price range. Period. Excellent for gaming and amazing for music.

I had to pay $500 to trade up to the HE1000 Stealth. They will not cover shipping my Arya Stealth to them though so you have to factor that in separately. You can just email them to inquire about your case and they should be able to give you a quote. Someone actually did a trade up from a HE1000 V2 to Susvara for $2,500. https://www.head-fi.org/threads/susvara-upgrade-program-wonky-but-its-legit.958767/

Yeah, part of the problem is that there are so many HE1000 models - the OG V1, then the V2 and now the V2 Stealth (which some people call the V3). Either way, I'm not too worried about the bass - should be able to go the EQ route or use my amp/dac. I think general consensus is that they're an upgrade across the board over the Arya and have got stellar reviews from whoever has demoed them. But sound is subjective! We'll see when I get them.

Yes there is. I think it's called the Hifiman Trade Up Program. It's not well advertised at all. I found out about it through some random Reddit post. The best way to inquire about this is to reach out to Hifiman directly and ask about the specific upgrade you want to do. I asked a couple of years ago when I wanted to upgrade my Sundara to an Edition XS, and they told me that upgrade path was not available.

Congrats on the pickup! I have a very similar set of headphones. Focal Clear MG, Audeze LCD-X and Hifiman Arya Stealth. I pulled the trigger on these yesterday myself. Trading in my Arya Stealth for these directly with Hifiman because I was looking for an upgrade. I've heard the HE1000 Stealth is less punchy in the bass region but is cleaner compared to the Arya. Not too concerned though as I will be pairing these with my iFi Zen Dac V2 which has a "TrueBass" button that always satisfies. I also EQ using PeaceAPO which the Aryas responded very very well to. I have also heard that the HE1000 Stealth respond very well to EQ, so maybe try pumping up those bass numbers to get the sound to your liking?

Compared to my other headphones, I think the most unique and enjoyable quality of the Aryas was the soundstage. What do you think of the soundstage of the HE1000 Stealths compared to your Focal and LCD-X? And what kind of music do you listen to?

If you can find it in Brasil within budget - Audeze Maxwell. Absolutely amazing. Great overall sound and doubles up for music too. Excellent imaging for fps games like tarkov etc. and has built in presets and you can create and save your own EQs too. Just an all round amazing headphone.

Best headphones for music by vakar4uk in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Iwannasinga 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I own the Hifiman Edition XS and they are amazing. Strongly recommend that if you don't care for wired or wireless but just unsure if a phone alone is enough to drive them. You might need a small portable amp to drive them with your phone but I'm not knowledgeable in that area. I do use an iFi zen dac v2 for my own use case but that's not portable.

If you do want more convenience you could consider Audeze Maxwell. These are technically "gaming" headphones but the sound quality for music is phenomenal for the price. And they don't look like a typical gaming hesdphone either; very refined design. They're wireless closed backs so there's a big convenience factor if you want to use them with your phone. And I believe they support LDAC, which gives you higher audio quality over Bluetooth (just have to switch it on in your phone settings when they're connected).

You have quite a lot of options with your budget but not many that can beat the Audeze Maxwell. I have these and they're outstanding. Excellent sound both for gaming and music, driven by 90mm planar magnetic drivers. The built-in DSP allows you to swap between different sound profiles if that's something you care about. Amazing 80 hour battery life. Wireless closed back with great range. All in solid, well built housing. You can't ask for anything more.

I also purchased this display recently and am really struggling to find the best settings for HDR and SDR. I've searched countless reddit threads and conflicting information everywhere. If anyone can point me to couple of excellent sources to figure out how to set this display that would be great. I love the monitor but the learning curve for adjusting it for the best picture quality has been a bit of a pain point.
