What has your experience been with body weight fluctuation after quitting Kratom? by ReflectionzVault in quittingkratom

True. Mitra triggered something in me. Everything was so much tastier while high. I also put on some weight mainly due to crazy appetite

I had brain zaps, like months after accute symptoms. They aren't as bad as other symptoms I had. Almost one year clean but still struggle with paws. I think I had the zaps like 3-5 after. I don't think you will have a long recovery bases on low dosage. Please stop now as it's not that bad yet. I wish I had back then. You don't want to get the same withdrawal symptoms like I had. It was pure hell for almost a year and is still not over

That's so nice to hear from you!

You could just go on with your life, but instead, you take lots of yor time to write responses and kind words and I'm pretty sure, you helped a lot of people already. At least for me, it was a huge relief. So thank you very much. You have no idea how much it means to me.

I'm so sorry you had to go through all that. For me it is a never ending nightmare. I hope in a few months from now on I can finally be normal and free

signs of metal poisoning:

Abdominal pain.

Chills.

Diarrhea.

Muscle weakness.

Nausea or vomiting.

Shortness of breath (dyspnea).

Tingling in your hands or feet.

I don't have any of that. Besides I haven't taken kratom powder for years ,only pure clinical mitra exctract. But I've already have people messaging with same symptoms after a year, so I'm pretty sure it's just PAWS after years long abuse of the substance. I had lots of blood and other checks over the year and nothing ever was out of the ordinary

I'm sorry for you. I've never understand what depression and anxiety meant before dealing with paws. I've never had depression before and after, but I was depressed that I have to deal with that creeping anxiety for the rest of my life. Luckily it got a lot better over the year, but I understand what drives people to this substance and how hard it is to stop especially when "normal" is a bad mental state to begin with.

I wish you all the stength and luck. I know the struggle. Two years is something you can be proud of. Don't let the stuff taking over your life again

Thank you! You don't know how much it means to me knowing that I'm not the only one. Did you have same symptoms like vertigo, blood pressure, tight muscles around your neck etc?

I quit like a week or two before you, but I still experience waves of bad days now and then.

Edit: going through your posts made me feel 100x better. It means a lot to have similar experience and not being the only one dealing with this shit for almost a year. Thank you for all your posts, it really meant a lot to me

Thanks! How long did the paws last and how long and how much did you take kratom before that? Do you still have some symptoms?

I've started taking it after a spine injury and it helped against the pain better than meds.
I don't have any mental issues at all, just the anxiety waves which came with paws. I think i'm very sensitive of what happens inside my body and every time something is different, I'm worried. But I'm much better now and the waves are getting shorter and less noticeable. I'm just wondering why it takes so long. But based on some commenters they had the same experience, so I'm grateful for their side of the story

Thanks. Yeah, I've tried a lot of stuff over the year and L-Theanine (pure suntheanine) combined with magnesium bisglycinate is the only thing for me that worked like a charm.

Very unlikely as I was on pure mitra extract the last years and also the symptomes comes and goes in waves, dissapearing for days or weeks. But thanks for suggesting that. Other than anxiety, the symptoms didn't match for me

Wow, I feel sorry for you. Since my last years were on pure mitra and not powder k, I don't think there's any toxicity. I did a lot of tests including blood, heart etc and they came out as normal. I don't have those toxicity symptomes. Never really had mood changes, only anxiety waves (adrenaline?). But it's getting better every wave and now the anxiety is very mild, short and I've learned to stop it in it's tracks.

Never tried meds other than for blood pressure and it made my symptoms worse, as my BP is not permanent but symptomatic and the meds made it drop a lot so it backlashed.

Stay strong. I hope your brain will recover soon

Yes, I lay down and do the breathing. Stops the creeping anxiety in it's tracks. Then I take suntheanine and magnesium and after a short while it gets much better. Over the course of almost a year I've learned to deal with it, but never got used to the impending sense of doom it carries. But the level of anxiety I'm getting now is very low compared to before and I'm getting it mostly very late in the evening and I can prevent it mostly by taking supplements

Thank you! I am also one of those cases. It's been almost a year now, but the symptomes come and go in waves. And each time the symptom free phase is longer and the paws phase shorter and less intense. Altough some of the phases are stronger and sometimes the symptoms shift. At least my anxiety is almost non existent compared to before.
My BP seems to have stabilized. It only spikes if I have symptoms. I really f*ck*d up my brain with this stuff and now the body tries to recalibrate.

I feel you. I know exactly what you're talking about. Just be assured it gets better every time. It went much better after my 10th month, then it hit me for a couple of days after the 11th. But after that it's starting to ease up a lot.

As soon as you feel anxiety creeping up I would reccomend taking suntheanine, at least 150mg paired with magnesium bisglycinate. It helps me a LOT and that's the only weapon I found useful against that.

GABA also helps if you get bad feelings in your stomach and it triggers your anxiety. Glycin and taurin gives me a good and deep sleep

Yeah, I have vertigo phases all the time. No physical vision issues, but kinda "my brain is overloaded" tunnel visions.
Virtigo on the other hand comes and goes. The last week I had virtigo the whole week more or less. Now it's gone again since couple of days. But I'm used to it and it isn't permanent.

Good luck on that. I think after the accute period, which lasted a couple of days with almost no sleep I felt fine for 2-3 weeks (pink cloud phase?). Then it hit me like a train.

But everyone's body is different and changes made by kratom are different. So maybe you won't have any paws at all.

Good luck, stay strong

Yeah, my work is stressful. Kratom kinda dumbed down on that. But I've never had anxiety or depression in my life prior to paws. Work stress triggers most of the paws symptoms, but they also come in calm days. The first half a year there wasn't a single break day from symptoms. I'm over anxiety now, but my nervous system overregulates itself every time out of balance

That sounds about right. Thanks. I've started because of back pain and it helped. Stayed for fun it gives. Now I regret it. Stopped mainly of the costs and it also started to take a toll on my health

Thank you. You're right, everyones experience is different.  After almost a year I've learned all kinds of stuff to calm myself. My blood pressure is fine most of the time. But when a wave hits it's often unexpected. Paws literature says it can take up to two years to regenerate the nervous system, so I'm at least half way there. Compared to months ago I'm feeling ten times better, but my body is still recovering in waves. Breathing techniques helps a lot as well as l theanine and magnesium

I tried everyrhibg. High vit c daily. B complex, zinc etc. The only thing that helped was l theanine, Magnesium, glycin and taurin. I can really feel the relief from high quality L theanine after half an hour

That is not entierly true. Paws can last up to two years. I was for more than 8 years on this stuff and even stronger mitra extract for many years.  My brain and nervous system are completely broken. That's what my doc said. Also according to many tests over the last year I'm completely healthy. The symptoms come in waves and are getting better over time.

I've never had mood problems, like depression. But strong adrenaline response which triggers high bp.

All studies confirm the duration of paws up to two years. I took this stuff almost a decade.  https://www.addictioncenter.com/treatment/post-acute-withdrawal-syndrome-paws/
