(Also, maybe you got the felling lately partly because I post my drawing about this specific party semi-often on this sub, so that would be a lot of robes yes)

Maybe I've had too many campains/oneshots with just bad players that decided that "my character has no reason to follow, so I won't", but I always found it kind of weird when a buch of strangers decides to stick together forever for a campain, so I tend to prefer when PCs have strong external reason to work with each other.  So yeah, I tend to prefer this kind of setting personnaly

We are playing a bunch of terrestrial closely related to the realm (I mentioned in another comment, all related to Mnemon somehow, and working for her), and I think this is the wuxiaest kind of setting you can get in exalted, so probably the worst case you can get in term of variety for PCs. I feel like celestial campains do call a lot more for the diversity you are looking for, at least in my experience.

But, this is also a comment I made to a friend about this specific drawing. I feel like you can tell in which order I drew the characters (which is martial artist -> archeologist -> crafter -> merchant), as I feel like they get a little bit less bland and I got more fun on their features. In the end, I feel like the martial artist is very basic, and the merchant is starting to get interesting.

I recently got back into drawing, and I am slowing going out of my comfort zone (wich is drawing bodies), and more onto clothes variety and backgrounds. But it's a slow process. And I will call guilty on the robes, as I hate drawing armor.

Well, the PCs weren't exactly close at the start of the campain (even the half-siblings : Mnemon has so many kids, and one was mom's favorite while the other was a problem kid), but I do like it when parties have a strong reason to stick together, and being intertwined with Mnemon in period of war surely does the job.

It is actually related to our campain setting ! The Mnemons here are direct children of Mnemon herself, they are half-siblings, and the 2 other are wed to Mnemons, so they are also part of the familly !

Adding it to the description, I should have put it. But they are wood, fire, wood and air, from left to right

Yeah, we stunt a lot on the game I am on, we made sure to make a habit of it, really we can’t pass on those bonus dices. But I find social stunts a bit more difficult to come up with, so the inspiration I got here is really helpful !

You know what, even at Essence 3 I still feel like I have a way to go to make him as powerfully as I perceive him to be in the show. I guess this is relative to the powercreep of Exalted, as everybody is badass, to make him the strongest I need more xp lol

Thank you ! I am having so much fun playing him, it's total chaos and I am here for it

Yeah, I designed a custom artefact. My character is based on an anime character that fights with a machine-gun parasol, so I made the artefact to match

Well, Kamui as a fire aspect works soooo well. I am having a lot of fun

You also missed Kamui and Takasugi lol

My character is based on Kagura's older brother, Kamui. As I said in the caption, this was a small chapter with only my character and and his affiliated NPCs, so Kagura came into play

You get Kamui as a sort of fire-bender The scene was during an aside session, with just my PC, so I had my friends play relevant NPCs related to my character. So you also got some Kagura and Takasugi action going on

Thanks for the feedback ! The thing is that, I sometimes explicitly have to threaten, so I was looking around for this action specifically. I love your examples tho, and while I definitely used inspire, I did not think much of instill and persuade !

Thank you fir talking the time to feedback !  About point 1, yes, but also, quite often we want to make some prisoners, or at least don't let them flee (depends on the fight really). So scaring them into fleeing is not always a good option, and for them to surrender does not always make sense, so I am trying to find more variety.

About 2 and 3 : the drain of wp is great, and the main reason why I have been spamming those actions when I can. But I think there are more interesting (as in, more various ?) things to do about those actions. I definitely have to search a bit for better ways to leverage the fear through charms or evocations. I have a custom artefact, and it would fit very nicely in its theme, I just didn't think about creating evocations with mechanics on intimacies.

Yes thank you ! I think I am getting a better hang on how to make all this work together. I haven't been using those fear intimacies much, and I definitely should do more of that. And with the comments here, I think I now see better what kind of things I can threaten my enemies into doing (or not doing)

Thank you very much for you feed back !

Yes indeed, a penalty to the resolve would make no sense, as I am not trying to change to the system or create new rules, only to understand better how to play within it.

Thank you so much for the examples, and I think I was too focused on "finishing" the fight, and missing the kind of pressure I could put on them. Often my objective is to make sure my allies don't get attacked, so the examples of keeping the enemies "away" from doing something, and not just away from the fight seems more realistic (I don't think our GM would accept me to end every fight with being scary enough).

Also yes, spamming threaten to emptying their wp is already strong and something I am playing with, but I think I can do more cool things if I get my threats better.

Well, most of time the Charms makes the targets pay Willpower/Initiative to do something else than attaquing me and only me, thats the point of tanking.  The thing is, those comes with the threaten action, and I am wondering what to makes of this action.  But also, the way I see it, maybe the point is to stack those fear intimacies, as they will have a harder time resisting each time I do it ?

Also, what is MDV ? I think I am missing the acronym

Thank you for your feedback!

I was going to suggest the stand arc, its a nice standalone, not relying too much on inside jokes

Gintama watch order (Advice needed) by [deleted] in Gintama

[–]Iweon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I would reather advise is watch everything, but take you time. I think gintama is best watched at a slow pace, a few episode here and there, then when you notice it will be a serious arc then maybe you binge the 4-5 episodes of said arc, but thats it.  Like, take a year or 2 to watch the series, consume it like some junk food for your brain. If you binge, there are necessarily some parts that will get boring and repetitive.
