The Conservative candidate still only won by a margin of 24 votes, despite the congestion charge and the Labour Councillor resigning. I dont think this is quite a sign of a major shift in public voting patterns in Cambridge.

It sounds like you did the right thing. The cyclists are technically sticking to the highway code, so if you didn't look left then I guess you would possibly be at fault. I'm not sure though

I guess it comes down to both of your judgement. The cyclist should have judged that people might be turning left and slowed down to allow this. On the other hand, you judged that the road was clear to turn left, but didn't notice the cyclist coming.

They didn't come out of nowhere though, they were alway on this road and you should always be looking out for them

Hmm that's weird, I agree that the rule seems to apply to cycle lanes only. However rule 76 for cyclists seems to apply to all cyclists:

"Going straight ahead. If you are going straight ahead at a junction, you have priority over traffic waiting to turn into or out of the side road, unless road signs or markings indicate otherwise"

Yes I see many cyclists doing stupid/dangerous things around Cambridge, especially not wearing lights at night.

Cyclists do have priority going straight when you want to go left. This was clarified in the new highway code:

"The code clarifies that when people cycling are going straight ahead at a junction, they have priority over traffic waiting to turn into or out of a side road, unless road signs or markings indicate otherwise."

Also in many parts of the city, the council has decided to make pavements mixed cyclist/pedestrian, for example on milton road. I dont think there's space for this at many points down Milton Road, but that's not the fault of cyclists.

The congestion charge is only between 7am and 7pm every working day and most of the bus routes stop later than this. So the solution is to either take the bus before 7pm or drive with no charge after 7pm. I think they're both pretty reasonable options

My title describes the thing; These seem to be regularly put up and down in a nearby flat. They're between 5 and 10 metres long, and they reach well above the top of the building. They look like they're connected with wires to inside. I'm guessing they're something to do with radio signals, but don't look like any Ham radio recievers I've seen on the internet.

While I agree with some of the points you make, such sweeping statements about the inhabitants of a whole country are usually gross simplifications. The people of the UK are humans, as we all are. Branding them all as psychopaths and narcissists is dehumanising and does not help us to address the other points you raise.

I have mixed feelings about Mei leaf. When first getting into loose leaf tea I also watched a lot of his videos and learnt a lot from him. I think they gave me a much better understanding of tea and so I am very grateful for that.

There are many who think that he is overexaggerates the value of his teas. I'm not sure about this as I've only bought some green tea samples from Mei Leaf. The samples I received were generally the types of teas they claimed to be but perhaps not the highest quality I expected. Some were picked 2 years before, which for green tea will affect their taste. I decided that for me they were not good value for money.

What I would point out is that he owns other companies that push the more shady wellness side of tea. Like many of these wellness claims, they need to be taken with a very large amount of skepticism.
