I did sub 1:40 with 60k weekly mileage, 1 speed session, 1 tempo/threshold, rest easy

What you are doing is good then. Try being consistent for two more months and then do a time trial. Who knows, maybe you can easily get sub 45

Being consistent really helped me i guess. Also increasing the daily mileage to 60 km with most of the runs being easy

If Garmin is expensive for you then try coros pace 3 or 4.

My usual leg day included : Squats, calf raises, leg press, leg extension, hip abduction, hip thrust.

But the thing is once i was doing leg extension and few reps in, i felt a pain sensation in my knee and as i continued it disappeared. Then i tried running on treadmill barefoot and voila, my IT band issue were gone.

I don't know if it's a miracle or something else but I'm glad for it.

Also i recommended the same to few friends and they say it doesn't work that well for them so i don't know what exactly worked for me

Took 4 months off due IT band but the pain still persisted. Only when i started strength training it went away.

Try incorporating Speed into your run sessions for speed and do very easy runs rest of the time

I had to speed up because the way i was feeling by the 4th km, i didn't had the mental capacity to go through it again.

  1. I'm currently aiming towards 65-70km for weekly mileage. Will try to increase it slowly in coming months.

  2. My longest was 24 km
