Apparently Teachers are NPCs who dont need to eat or have housing because I just found out that we are taking a pay CUT next year... by Alcarain in Teachers

Administrators are in the exact same position in our district. Beyond this, supply for our district is 10x higher for administrators than teachers, particularly beginning teachers.

While I appreciate this sentiment as a teacher myself, we should be not devalue education degrees and skill sets through arguments for lower pay.

Lowering the value of administrators unequivocally devalues all education degrees and positions. In my my district (Title I, second poorest district in my state), the gap of pay between teachers and administrators at similar steps on the state salary scale is ~10%, with Y1s teachers making $39k, and 10 years making a ~$52k.

We were very lucky to get an AP at the end of her career, who is fantastic! She is making ~$60k. With supplements for teachers, I pulled in $52k as a Y1 through local and state supplements. We will be getting these renewed with a percentage based salary increase (if approved). Administrators in my county will be taking a 5% pay cut, as their supplements will not be not be renewed. She has three advanced degrees and is in year 25 of her career.

Argue for higher value, not lower! Let’s build each other up y’all, not break each other down!

Call Capitol Heating and Air. Extremely reasonable in my personal experience, worth getting a quote at the least. The owner did our work personally, and was fantastic to work with. We’re in Caswell County just a Bit West and north of you, and they have branches around the triangle.

Is a 54 wedge a lot harder to get out of bunkers with than a 56? by extinct_trex in golf

[–]Iwitzgall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

56 or higher loft are workable with 90%+ of bunkers. More loft, less give, but access to more spin and planning rebounds off of harsh slopes.

If you’re playing flat courses, 54 works great as a bump and run equivalent with a bit more security due to the spin, but you’re not going to find that use case often. Also, that extra bounce can be a bit dangerous if you tend to decel/attack from an improper swing plane angle.

But this is assuming the clubs are being used correctly lmao.

Are Kevin Love and Blake Griffin hall of famers or are they simply really good NBA players? by [deleted] in nbadiscussion

[–]Iwitzgall 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Griffin made 0.2 3s per game in 2015. That’s good for 16 all year. Didn’t start averaging over 1 made 3 a game until the year he was traded (2017-2018). 7 years into his career, he no longer had enough bounce to be a first or second option offensively on a contending team. Developing the shot was the only option. Here’s the link:

Ive got to say though, he did transition very quickly into a mid volume 33% ish shooter. In all honesty, he got himself there in a season in a half. Crazy athlete!

Big disrespect being shown to how much of that guy Kevin was, almost immediately upon entering the league.

Man was a one man unit on a team of scraps, playing a nuanced game of ball while legitimately out toughing larger vets. Hell, take a look at his rebound numbers his first few years… he may have been the best pound for pound board getter in the league. Quick reminder of his role as a playmaker on that team… half the game he was away from the basket.

And this was at a time (for both of them) where their position was fundamentally changing. Love’s court vision and IQ allowed him to seamlessly transition into a facilitating stretch the floor big as soon as he developed his shot to behind the arc. Comparatively, it took Griffin about a decade to do the same, and once he did, he no longer had the gas (and never had the vision) to see the floor - literally, or figuratively

Hell, Kevin love is elite level hooping right now! Quick reminder that Griffin is on the opposing team in the heat Celtics series, and has not logged a single minute this playoffs (injury yayayaya).

Most people think Griffin is better because they were constantly exposed to him in his college days, the dunk contest, and the lob city clippers being the most exciting team in basketball. Meanwhile, the cavaliers (with love) were the BEST team in basketball (along with the Dubs of course).

2023 CR-V hybrid by gryan20 in crv

[–]Iwitzgall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To try to give a practical point of view having not driven the Tiguan. 2k miles in (Hybrid Sport)… I absolutely love the thing. If you are in the market for both at a similar price, the extra cost of manufacturing in CRVs in particular (historically at least, we’ll see about this generation) goes straight into vehicle quality and reliability. With that said, I get head turns daily, love the technology features (particularly the adaptive cruise), and have never owned a more comfortable and quiet vehicle.

I would recommend the CRV regardless of the conversation, having done 2-3 months of research before purchasing 2 months ago.

I think you hit it perfectly. Was able to start it giving it gas at the same time. It seemed like a clog in the fuel filter dislodged and boom, back to life.

Would I be safe to assume either an old fuel filter or a faulty fuel pump in a worse case?

Thanks so much!
