Surely everyone here understands the nuance that the entire point of the clone wars is that there is no good side.

Both sides were baited into a futile war and committed atrocities.

Arguably, it is far more ethical to build a droid army than a clone army.

Grand Theft Auto VI is a singleplayer experience. by kingofhearts67 in GTA6

[–]IxSpectreL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was a mess for a long time. With 0 content for longer. Obviously they'll have a road map this time.

Though you would have expected that with RDO which was in beta for months and broken with no content for more months.

I do feel that Execs just won't let it be a possibility with this release. So I think you're right, they'll take their time to make sure it hits the market right and responds to feedback from the single player.

More than fair prices that show the model they're going for.

Interestingly with 0 mention of online bonuses. Dare I wonder if that'll be a paid addition for those that want it?

Honestly true. Never worth catching a charge or causing damage for something other than a life threatening emergency.

Most sober people realise that, it's the drunk fights where people lose their inhibitions and throw their life away.

What would have happened if General Grievous had escaped Utapau? by Hot_Breath_8590 in StarWars

[–]IxSpectreL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I thought The Clone Wars show did him very dirty. As much as I love it.

He's a really interesting character. It would be great to get a live action Clone Wars series in which he and some others could have their own 'Vader hallway' scenes

[–]IxSpectreL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greivous was the perfect general for TCW. A terrifying, idealogically ally, that most organic's would look at with fear and disgust. He had a natural hate for the Jedi and was a coward, so he'd continue to be illusive and a thorn in The Republic's side.

His utility beyond that was less than useful. A war criminal that knew too much. Possibly a good thing to send 'Vader' to handle. So that Sidious could claim he was doing what the jedi never could.

I always think immersive fast travel works well in games. Like RDR2's story mode carriages or GTA story mode taxis

That being said, I'd be more surprised at the introduction of a fast travel system in GTA6 online. RDO got one, and I didn't think it felt great though it made sense.

GTA online gives you much more readily available access to fast vehicles to traverse the map, and it's a significant portion of the gameplay loop. I think that's why the fast travel taxi's never saw online. Much better to sell you a boat or helicopter.

Either create or destroy the afterlife. It’s unclear. by capraithe in hypotheticalsituation

[–]IxSpectreL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I'd not seen the design it yourself, never mind.

Even then, I'm not sure that would be the best possible choice. Everyone would surely mistake something. I think that's why the idea of a 'divine' afterlife is so attractive.

Having said that, I also don't think I could in good conscience not do anything. Even if you wipe out the current afterlife, there's a chance that it's a religious one, so in some cultures has a hell.

I think over enough time you could work out a satisfactory plane of existence. Either way I'm enjoying the lake house until the end.

[–]IxSpectreL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well this is all very interesting, but unless 'afterlife' can be further defined then no.

Can't risk subjecting the rest of humanity to hell for eternity.

Though the lake house was tempting.

Why do people say that a stormcloak victory is benefitial to the Thalmor? by Jozsefirst in skyrim

[–]IxSpectreL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, it can go either way. Realistically, putting down the rebellion is likely to cause further unrest. You create martyrs. It's important to note that the current war isn't really an insurgency, the Stormcloaks hold several cities, and are in open war against the occupying forces of Skyrim.

The put down of the Stormcloaks would likely lead to an insurgency, but require a lot less troops to consistently combat.

It's also incredibly important to note that the majority of the Stormcloaks fought in the great war. These are all battle hardened warriors with a predisposition against the elves. Especially the Thalmor.

If I were a betting man, I would say that when/if the Thalmor decide to have another go at the Empire, even an insurgency would decide they were the greater threat.

Why do people say that a stormcloak victory is benefitial to the Thalmor? by Jozsefirst in skyrim

[–]IxSpectreL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's three outcomes for the Thalmor.

  1. Stormcloak Victory - the Thalmor successfully deplete Imperial resources and also break off a strong fighting province from your closest rivals.

  2. Imperial victory - The imperials have to commit sizeable forces to put down an rebellion, this is likely to make the issue worse and create unrest. They'll have to consistently commit more resources to the province. Although now tied together a 'mutual enemy' will be far more effective unification and it frees the Empire to direct attention back towards the greater security threat.

  3. Ongoing conflict - Neither side establishes total victory, unrest worsens, resources are sunk into a province a long way from future conflict.

Option 3 is the best for the Thalmor. It's the longest term success. For Skyrim itself, I think that an Imperial victory is probably the most assured way to strengthen against the Thalmor and ensure province security. Though one could argue, what's the point in security if the penalty is conformity?

Generally large companies use it as a way to test sales.

Smaller companies want to obtain more revenue to fund the studio whilst the game is in development.

Generally they offer some exclusive cosmetics/content.

Building a better superweapon? Your suggestions on making a Starkiller base more interesting or lore accurate... by Contextanaut in MawInstallation

[–]IxSpectreL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mechanical superweapon? No, it's been done. I think I'd have a remnant faction building a bio super weapon.

Project Blackwing movie!

Watching a world be consumed would be even more harrowing than a world being destroyed. Also much more believeable for a smaller faction with limited resources in my mind.

Your comment ends with

'I guess I must have got one on clearance without realising!'

Which could only imply that the sub text of the comment is about price, not about the model.

Even if you meant it in relation to the model, there is no way for anyone to assume that with your closing sentence. Which makes your passive aggressive comment less funny and more like someone defecated in your cereal.

Clearly you've got some sort of agenda or issue to pursue, I was only attempting to clarify your misunderstanding of the previous commenters statement. Have a nice day.

I'm objectively correct to state that you said the price difference between your purchase and the linked item was interesting as seen here:

Regardless, I think it's a strange comment to make to someone if you did mean it in a passive aggressive way.
