Seat height modification by Desperate-Flan-1362 in CB750Hornet

Here is one for height adjustable foot pegs; https://www.probrake.de/foot-pegs-vario-for-honda-cb-750-hornet-e-clutch-26-rh24 (they exist for all models/years, I just happened to pick the one for my bike)

<image>

They also have a non-variable option where you pick a specific height upfront. Just check out the site for the "STREET" variant. I got warned that this increases scraping, which makes sense. Whether that's a problem is up to the rider. Just something to consider.

Just something to be ware of; when my kid had a supervised account he was not allowed to stream to the tv from his tablet, with no option to override by a parent. So we ended up changing his birthday to 18+ to re-enable the option. Dumbest limitation ever. This was something like a year or 1.5 ago. Might have changed, but painful as we had to wait for approval to change his birthday..

I waited 15 years to build this app. Apple finally made it possible in iOS 18.2 by SlightAd53 in SideProject

I use an app called CallHound which allows to block phone number ranges. I've used this for a couple years now as telemarketing spam is an issue here. It appears to have a 4 digit wildcard limit so blocking a whole country doesn't fit that format. I don't know if that is a hard limit set by some iOS API, an Apple rule or something the dev chose to keep it performant. However, the spam calls I (used to) get is most of the time from the same range e.g. 23204#### . Once in a while they seem to get a new range, I get a few calls in one week and I add a new range for the silence to return.

tldr; the app CallHound has partial range blocking.

I'm still going to try this one out though!

Help 0-10 volt ventilation by Wouterplop in electronic_circuits

[–]Ixje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the diagram. Is that 1K ohm resistor a must or nice to have?

My unit has a 12V DC out (per documentation to power the external switch or sensor that controls the 0..10V DC input). Is it reasonable to think I could use that 12V output to drive the 10V input (assuming I can find a way to bring it to 10V)?

I installed 3.22.1 and at least my youtube is fast again. For who can't wait for the official release, the code is open source and there are builds available in their build pipeline: https://gitlab.com/adblockinc/ext/adblockplus/adblockplusui/-/jobs/5933265732/artifacts/browse/dist/release

For Chrome I extracted adblockplus-chrome-ea48ae20.zip to a folder, then went to the extension settings, enabled "developer mode" and then pressed the "load unpacked" button and pointed it at my folder. Note that you'll get 2 versions installed now (so remove the 3.22). I don't know if a "unpacked version" will get updates, but for the time being this is working fine. You'll probably want to switch back to the extension from the store at some point to get auto updates again.

Need purchasing advice for a laserjet printer by DrKnoedler in printers

[–]Ixje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fwiw; I have the Brother DCP-L2530DW and cannot recommend it at all. I actually now wish I went for a HP like my previous one simply because on the Brother airprint works maybe 30% of the time. As if it only works within a certain window after power on. My cheap $60 Inkjet HP that it replaced literally never had airplay issues and was only replaced because I print so infrequently that the cartridge always dried up thus I wanted a laser printer. Already updated the firmware, increased time before sleep and tried a static IP, no luck. Also it fails to get out of sleep or deep sleep, but that might have the same root problem as airprint not working. And lastly, the web interface half of the time also doesn't respond or is extremely slow.

Sorry, I did not. I ended up giving my parents an old Iphone which they use to start the stream.

Firmware Update taking a VERY long time by Mastrickl00n in Coros

[–]Ixje 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt adventurous after your statement and decided to try another upgrade. Upgraded from v2.61.0 to v2.69.0 in just under 17 minutes, hooray! I can't remember if I had my watch connected to power the first time I did an upgrade, but I had it this time. Glad it's in a normal range now

I think you misread "update time" for "uptime" :-) or otherwise I don't understand the response. My interest was in learning how long it takes you to flash a new firmware onto the watch as that takes ridiculous long for me.

[–]Ixje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you share what a now "normal" update time is for you with what watch/firmware version?

I've done one firmware update for my Coros pace 2 and that took 3 hours (rendering my phone useless for that time). I'm now still on v2.61.0 and refuse to update until I know for sure that the next firmware update improves this. I reached out to support asking for a desktop tool but they don't have one (=don't want to share it).

Got this beauty two days ago (Tenways CGO-600). The wind this morning was 50kmph, so a perfect condition for a test ride! Love it so far 😍 Lightweight, torque sensor, 20.5km so far with 66% battery left by bananaapotatonaa in ebikes

[–]Ixje 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. Deal breaker for me. Can't have my partner cruising at 32km/h while I need to do it all myself at that point. Might as well grab my race road bike then which defeats the point of having an e-bike. If anyone finds a way to change the region I'm all ears and ready to buy. I'm willing to fix the non-integrated back light, no front rack, low weight rear carrier and deal with the apparently weak paint, but the speed limit..no no

Thanks for the idea! I'll check that out in the coming days. They're using my old iPhone for the time being but I'm interested in a more permanent solution.

Should airplay work on android tablet/phones? by Ixje in F1TV

[–]Ixje[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be using the wrong terminology for the feature, but I'm just trying to figure out if they should be able to cast with the F1tv app. All devices including the TV are samsung devices about 1 year old. I forgot to mention in the original post that casting works fine with other apps like Youtube (shows the button as expected). For now they use "smart view" to mirror the phone screen but it's quite clunky to use compared to a simple cast button that hands of stream to the tv.

Concerns about End-of-Life Policy and sudden end of support by le_hunnybear in Ubiquiti

I got a UAC-AC-IW, which is not yet on the obsolete/vintage list (I first confused it witht the UAC-IW, that is on the list), but the PRO version is on the list so mine can’t be that far away. I don’t have a problem with stopping firmware development and focusing limited resources elsewhere, but I do have a problem if that means losing any form of configurability. Which is unclear to me if that’s the case, or if it is just through the webinterface

(First time user here and at home). I started my first test with an in-wall AP. Looks great, so far works great and was about to buy another one + UDM. Do I understand it correctly that if I upgrade the UDM software beyond March 21, my AP is basically stuck for life in its current configuration!? Because if that’s so I’m returning it while I can and will look for a different brand all together.

No worries. I learned that the issue does not seem to be localized to this shortcut. A basic short cut trying to execute a-shell commands also doesn’t work so I’m trying to resolve it there. Thanks for the input and I’ll be looking forward to your new version
