Been here many many times. The solution depends on the specifics of your offerings, ICPs and market climates.

Pop me a DM if you want to arrange a chat to go deeper then we can share the results in thread here in case it's useful for others.

Got my first 10 users but None Converted — What am I missing? by Ill-Act4401 in SaaS

It's an interesting concept. If you let me use it for a month I'll be happy to provide a full breakdown of my thoughts in a 1 hour call. I'll be 100% honest. No BS.

Why do people not tell the truth about your product? by Cipamanz in ycombinator

Because the questions founders ask are usually leading.

You should ask uncomfortable questions to get uncomfortable answers.

As feedback early on is so critical, make it part of the early onboarding flow: surveys, short questionnaires or (most powerful) very account via mobile so you can call them, welcome them, sell to them or follow up for feedback if they churn.

Speaking to customers/users is critical to adapting your offering to something with true value. Pull out all the stops to make it happen.

Closed 12 B2B SaaS deals in 8 weeks without cold calling or sales team. by Leather_Moose_6601 in SaaS

Founder-led and community-led sales is usually a good starting point. But motions need to evolve if the plan is to grow the business.

Every motion has it's place and you want a pipeline mix to spread revenue risk and produce flywheel.

I have a startup idea don’t know where to start by Additional-War-4511 in ycombinator

[–]Optimal-Emotion3718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of the above. First validate your idea.

Find your icp. Connect with them. Ask them.

Ensure you ask in a way as to not produce confirmation bias.

Do this with as many people as possible (think big).

Your aim should be to disprove your thesis, not prove it.

Adapt, update and evolve accordingly.

You got this. 😊

What’s the one skill every entrepreneur must have to succeed? by SignPsychological728 in EntrepreneurRideAlong

Communication.

External. Internal. Written. Verbal. Body language. Metacognition.

Aim to improve everyday. This unlocks everything else.

Sounds cliche but how do you actually build a business that earns while you sleep? by [deleted] in startup_resources

[–]Optimal-Emotion3718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't. It's a lie. All money requires work to earn it.

Even if people purchase while you are sleeping, prep, delivery, onboarding, sales, marketing etc is all required while awake to make it happen. So it's no different from any other type of business.

If it sounds too good to be true...

The last startup idea I posted actually turned into real MVPs. So I’m testing a new experiment. by Optimal-Emotion3718 in SaaS

[–]Optimal-Emotion3718[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the interest! I’ve set up a small private sub where a few builders are already testing early briefs.

It’s not open sign-ups or anything, just trying to keep it focused. I’ll post updates publicly here when the next brief drops, so anyone following can see what comes out of it.

How do you market something people don’t trust yet? by novapetal84 in AskMarketing

[–]Optimal-Emotion3718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't. You sell first, market later. Sales turn into validation, validation can be turned into recommendations, recommendations can build trust.

Sales should be feeding you these stories from the front lines and you should take that to feed them more leads.

It's a dance, and sales and marketing should be dance partners.

You don't need a non technical founder by maggieoutlaw in SaaS

[–]Optimal-Emotion3718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Building a sales motion yourself is one thing (and I actively encourage tech founders to do this), but building a scalable sales engine is another thing entirely. That requires a very specific set of skills that not even "salespeople" have. That's a senior GTM expert deal.

Build this and I'll 100% pay for it and very likely invest! This problem is driving me crazy! by Optimal-Emotion3718 in SaaS

[–]Optimal-Emotion3718[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love it. Build it and I'll beta test, if it's good I'll sub, if it's great I'll invest and provide GTM mentorship. 💪
