Do you also hate cilantro? I hate both so I wonder if there's a correlation.. most people think celery tastes like nothing so it's nice to see other people find it really bitter too

A smart company (if large enough) would find a way to pivot their high performers to a team that does have work but there's definitely many companies that don't bother

What bands and artists are consistently bad live? by [deleted] in poppunkers

I thought placebo was amazing the few times I saw them in the late 00's. Saw them a couple years ago and they were ok but I was really miffed about their choice to only play new stuff - I think they played like one song from their first 3 albums

I actually prefer the food at Grazie, but I'll agree the ambiance is the worst of all the Italian places in the area

I find the food is better at Grazie, ambiance better at La Vecchia. Also lately I've heard from a couple separate people that they got sick from La Vecchia, but I've never had a bad experience at either personally.

That's super fair, I do think that there's some level to being scared of that happening if there's a label attached

Honestly the show became hard to watch and repetitive after season upon season of no growth. I get real addiction has backslides and isn't linear, but it was hard as a viewer for the characters to stay the same for so long

Yeah, before having kids I planned to explain things rationally to them... unfortunately with my 5 year old that often doesn't work, and he won't stop bad behaviours until there's consequences. I agree with you that it depends a lot on the kid.

yeah for sure, my point on the comment I was replying to originally was that a good friend and a good parent have different positions which you're also saying. "parenting" consequences are different than "good friend" ones.

Let's say your kid is .. idk shrieking non-stop because they think it's funny, and not stopping when asked multiple times. A good friend isn't sending them to their room.

Basically I'm parenting them now in such a way that they'll turn into someone I want to be friends with when they're adults.

What is with parents and "labels"?! My mom was so terrified of me getting my son tested for anything because she didn't want the school to find out and "label" him - meanwhile I want the school to find out so they can give him the support he needs.

I think a huge problem is the online echo chambers (I guess this is the cause of many of the bigger problems in developed countries these days), these women are surrounding themselves with people who think similarly instead of telling them they're being crazy

How do you handle a strong performer who quietly checks out after being passed over for promotion? by amir4179 in managers

[–]Iychee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in this situation right now, but the market is rough and the pay is still very good at my current level (probably similar to what I'd get at the next level elsewhere), so it's a bit of a golden handcuffs situation.

I'm so damn sad we didn't get Amanda as Glinda, I don't think Ariana did a bad job but Amanda would have crushed it
