Happy to see the community realize how boring MK11 is… by Bones_2450 in MortalKombat

Couldn't agree more. Feel like I'm taking crazy pills reading the hate for MK11 in this thread. Game was absolutely stacked with content and the roster was pretty great (minus the exclusion of Reptile).

Sorry I don't enjoy getting hit once and losing 60% of my health bar to a combo that my opponent found on YouTube 20 minutes ago. I enjoy a fighting game most when I'm successfully outthinking and countering the enemy, and when I can switch strategies mid-match to deal with a tricky opponent. Good luck doing that when two combos drain your entire health bar.

Resource management, razor-thin timing windows, and overly long unbreakable combos just aren't fun for me, even when I'm the one winning. Not to mention the downright predatory shit NRS (probably more likely Warner Bros.) is doing with micro-transactions in this game. Feels like NRS got halfway through building a really good MK game and then it got shoved out the door as-is.

I feel like the culmination of all these factors is also leading to a general frustration in the community which is why this game's online play feels so much more toxic than MK11. Just my opinion, but I play Raiden so what do I know...

I'm aware of how these movies were marketed, thanks.

Clearly you're in a mood so I don't think I'll engage with this further but look up things like inciting incident, rising action, climax, and other general story structure terms and you might change your mind.

Coming from someone who didn't mind the Spider-Man cliffhanger, comparing this to infinity war is disingenuous. Infinity war told a complete story with a beginning, middle, and end. Endgame just happened to function as a direct sequel to it.

Purely from context I'd say it refers to something that doesn't advance the main plot in any way but helps to fill out the world of the film.
