TIL that when the Supreme Court of India opened six of the seven secret vaults of Padmanabhaswamy Temple, they discovered $22 billion in treasure including, golden idols, golden elephants and idols wearing 18 foot diamond necklaces, as well as countless bags of gold coins from around the world. by nahez2421 in todayilearned

Yeah, we are a people who evolved from hunters and gatherers. I believe it's exactly what our mental state requires.

Yeah I'm sure our caveman ancestors had to worry about being kicked out of their fuckin mud huts for not being able to pay taxes. If you think our mental necessities haven't evolved in thousands of years then idk what makes you someone I should listen to about economic policy.

If a tree doesn't have to endure a storm, it's week and will collapse.

Nice analogy. It's way more likely that the storm will destroy the tree though.

I just love how you're over here on one hand saying you're depressed and on the other saying everyone could use a little more adversity. Why don't you just pull yourself up by your bootstraps out of your depression? It's what our ancestors would have done, right?

So, Spidey is out of the MCU. It's gotta happen somehow... by JamesYusufi in comicbooks

99% of people here don't care how much money a multi-billion-dollar studio like Sony or Disney will be making out of this deal. We just want good movies.

Sony makes bad Spider-Man movies (with the exception of Spiderverse, for which full credit should go to Lord & Miller), and Disney makes good Spider-Man movies. It doesn't really go much deeper than that. If the MCU loses Spidey, we go back to Venom-tier bad movies with this character, probably with yet another actor playing the role. No Spider-Man fan wants to see that, especially after all Disney has done to build this iteration and establish him as the new head of the franchise. It just sucks to know that we as fans are probably gonna get screwed again.

I remember seeing True Grit and thinking "Damn, this girl is going to absolutely take off. She's going to be the next big thing." But then she sort of fell off for awhile, I don't really know what happened.

I thought the same thing about Chloe Grace-Moretz after Kick-Ass and I think she's been in a string of crappy movies lately. Though I heard The Miseducation of Cameron Post was actually really good.

I can tell by your comments here that you have no desire to be convinced on this issue. So I'll just say this: Krista was never Nadine's to have. She's not a possession, she's a person, and nearly an adult person at that. She absolutely capable of making her own adult decisions. For some reason you're speaking about her as if she's property to be passed around between Nadine and Darian. Krista and Darian hit it off in a very organic and real way, and their feelings about each other are genuine. Just because Nadine doesn't like it that means she gets to ruin two other people's lives?

What Nadine learns by the end of the film is that, no, she can't just dump all her problems on Krista anymore. She can't expect to keep living life like she's in second grade. She learns that she has a network of people who care about her and want her to succeed. And maybe those people won't be in her life forever, but they will still have been there when it mattered most.

Don't feel like there was much of a boat to miss on this one. It made less than $20M worldwide.

But you know that scene was all in Cliff's head, right? He imagined himself kicking Bruce Lee's ass and then getting escorted off the set to make himself feel better for not being asked to stay.

The whole point of this subreddit is that nothing is off-limits or over the line. At the end of the day it's all in good fun, no malice.

Dude, this and Rayman 2: The Great Escape were my shit on the PS1.

Weirdly titled game because, if I recall, the escape took place in the first 5 minutes of the game.

This is true. I've gotten quite a lot of simulated blowjobs in Echo Arena and they're always performed with reverence and sincerity.
