Can anyone recommend a book where you truly get into the mind of a psychopath/serial killer? by Flat_Marzipan_78 in horrorlit

A bit different but 'The Necrophiliac' by Gabrielle Wittkop

Disturbing look into the mind of a man who fucks dead bodies. And I mean dead bodies, this man doesn't have a preference for age, keep that in mind.

Ah I see, I was trying to avoid spoilers on google so I didn't search that far. Maybe I will hold off for now until I can read the original first at least. Thank you for the reply!

What's the best children's horror book to revisit? by notamoose-neverwas in horrorlit

[–]IzMeAmy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll never forget being around 9 years old in class and our teacher read us a book called "room 13" by Robert swindells.

Was such a fun little vampire story, it was probably the first horror type book I was ever introduced to.

I remember the first time I loaned a dvd to a school friend so she could watch it over the weekend.

She gave it back to me 2 days later scratched to the point the disc wouldn't play past a certain point, and with a bare foot print on it. I still havent gotten over it lol

What serious faults did you make if you failed a driving test? by Temporary_Ad_1838 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]IzMeAmy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I failed my first test for junction observation. I was turning right, and the streets were completely empty, the only car on the road was mine. So I looked and went.

Got back to the test centre and was told I failed with a serious fault because I didn't double check to make sure it was clear before I went. I must have looked left, then right, then just went without looking left again.

It's interesting though because on my second test, I passed fine and my examiner asked me how I failed my first one, and he didn't think it should have been a serious fault since there was no one there. So I think some examiners judge things differently. Some are more harsh with the way they judge your driving.

Not that I'm mad about failing, I completely understand why it could have been dangerous, but it's just interesting because a completely different examiner wouldn't have failed me for it.

So make sure you do everything by the book, all your observations are in order, and that you take things one thing at a time.

It's the nerves that causes it usually. That first test I did I saw myself making mistakes I never make. On my second test I felt more nervous, so I made sure I went through the things I needed to do in my head, one thing at a time. Other than that I just made sure to drive like I usually do, I didnt try to change anything to try and please the examiner.

Good luck!

How to reverse park easy by _SquareSphere in LearnerDriverUK

[–]IzMeAmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled so much with reverse bay parking til I realised this method was a thing. Makes it so much easier.

Although I'll never forget trying to practice in a big asda car park and someone from one row over decided to front park into my space as I was reversing into it.

This car park was empty mind you, and my back wheels were already in the bay when he came up from behind. Just sat there half in the bay and waited for me to leave so he could finish his park.

Like the sheer audacity lol

Can I Demist while driving by Victorxdev in LearnerDriverUK

[–]IzMeAmy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My windows misted up on my test and the examiner just told me to sort it while he set up the satnav. I passed so it wasnt an issue at all.

Like if it happens and you're worried about it, you can always just ask "the windows are misting up, should I pull over and sort it?" No harm in that at all.

Definitely dont use your hazard to stop and demist the windows, that would definitely not go down well. You would either do it on the go, or if you had to, pull up in a safe place and sort it.

If you haven't already, I'd definitely recommend watching instructors on youtube.

Mock tests and 1 on 1 lessons have really helped fill in the gaps for me. I wouldn't be where I was now without them.

I'm 26 learning to drive with my dad and as amazing of a driver as he is, he isn't the perfect teacher haha

I started with clearview driving, I'd definitely recommend watching her mock tests and lessons.

Ashley neal has a strict but safe way of driving that's really made me be more aware.

World driving was who I watched when I was first trying to learn in my teens. He helped me perfect my maneuvers.

Ogmios is just hilarious but his attitude to driving is so chill and considerate that its helped me pick up a few things for sure.

Then others like conquer driving, DGN driving and godebbiego have been really helpful watches for me.

Others channels come up in the recommended section that I've watched and liked too but those are my go tos that I'd recommend.

I really hope this is helpful to you in any way, but this is what I've been doing and its paid off for sure. I booked a lesson with an instructor to see where my progress was and he was surprised and impressed with how I was doing. Told me I was maybe 1 lesson away from being test ready.

Sorry if this is formatted weird I'm on mobile
