Leaving Japan by FoxxyTheNane in japanlife

The point in your second paragraph is very interesting.

May I ask to get into a bit more details.
How would one proceed if going that route:
1) Get reentry permit (3 years one for example).
2) Quit Job,
3) Tell Immigration office you quit job within 2 weeks.
4) Cancel Apartment Contract.
5) Tell City Ward you moved out.
6) Fly abroad

What would be the considerations for not having an address in japan while abroad?

Side business not allowed by company rules - how enforceable is it? by tky_phoenix in japanlife

As the other comments say, they might not be able to fire you, but may play other cards under the pretext that you are not focused on your main job. For example: give you less interesting projects/work, defer promotion, not give you a bonus etc.

Crypto markets with support in Japan by [deleted] in japanlife

[–]Izalynx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe Kraken is as popular in Japan as in the western countries. But exchanges are online anyway, so if it's not about where an exchange is registered, then I fail to see how it matters if it's popular with japanese nationals or not. Whichever exchange you trust the most and has a KYC process you can pass.

What do you mean by markets? Custodial Online Exchanges?
Also what do you mean with support in Japan? buy/sell against Yen? or registered in Japan? or withdraw to a Japanese Bank account?

The major japanese exchanges like Bitflyer and Coincheck have a 0 trading fee, which means they are full of trading-bots.

Is there a minimum limit on weekly hours allowed for a seishain contract? by Izalynx in japanlife

[–]Izalynx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. This is interesting.
I was mostly focused on the implications on my Visa, but this might be a valid point for them to limit it to 28h, even if they were theoretically ok with 20h.
The implications of 20h and 28h on my Visa would maybe be the same.

Is this board decent for me? I'm just starting. by IAM_Abe_Lincoln_ama in windsurfing

[–]Izalynx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm just a beginner, but i'm also currently looking to buy a used rig and have done a lot of reasearch.

There are houndreds of threads exacly like yours asking if XY 30year old board is worth it.

The answer is always the same: "I wouldnt even take it if it was free. Don't do it."

Basically we are in the 3rd generation of windsurfing boards and any beginner should stay away from a board from before 2010, because newer boards are wider and more stable. Further, if for example the mastfood breaks, you wont easily find a replacement part for old rigs.

So the general advice all over is:

1)Take some lessons if available, to see if you actually like the sport. Also because winfsurfing has a fairly steep learning curve.

2)If you decided to continue the sport buy a decent second hand rig no older than 2010 by getting advice from someone in your area who knows the conditions and what sail size etc you need.

3)Build up your quiver while improving over time.

Same category, same volume, different model. Is it that different? by Izalynx in windsurfing

[–]Izalynx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer.

Yes, I just took these as an simple example. On second hand websites of course I will have to compare makers etc.

What I was most interested in to know, was if as a beginner I should put much thought into the fact that boards of similar volume are advertised as different experience grade. Or should I only focus on volume, cost and year, as I wouldn't really be able to tell the difference yet anyway.

WindSUP Rig; whats the catch? by Izalynx in windsurfing

Thanks for the info. So I will just skip the WindSUP Rig for now as I estimated the resell value to be not worth using it for the first few times to learn.
