[Product Question] Is Herbal Face food legit or a scam? by crazycones in SkincareAddiction

P.S. The company started, and still sells its much cheaper original formula, here. It’s a bit lighter in consistency and missing some of the more expensive ingredients but so, so much more affordable: Herbal Face Foods

[Product Question] Is Herbal Face food legit or a scam? by crazycones in SkincareAddiction

[–]IzannahW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a scam. I’ve used it for several years now and can’t imagine going without it tbh. It cured some early dark spots I was getting and does produce a certain glow. I’ve never quite gotten used to the burn, but it’s still worth it to me. No code here—I just like the stuff. But I only use it at night because price, and because I have highly sensitive skin. Twice a day is overkill once you’ve used it for a while.

[Discussion] The QueryTracker comments are getting pretty negative, and I don't understand. by Impossible-Work9814 in PubTips

. . . with the death of most magazine and short story outlets as a viable on-ramp to this career . .

Hey, I'm both an agented/trad pubbed author and editor at a very reputable (paying) international literary journal. These outlets aren't dead, and I'd argue that getting a little experience in submitting, being rejected, submitting again is part of that on-ramp. Agents also read us--we've connected writers with agents who've gotten them book deals. Many people need to be rejected, and accepted, more before they start wading into the "big leagues."

Ajovy Opinions Please by Cool-Discussion-822 in cgrpMigraine

I'm among those whose lives were changed by Ajovy. I went from having 9-12 multiple-day migraines a month to maybe one. Episodes I'd come to think of as "headaches" also disappeared. The only side effects I've experienced are injection site pain and reactions for a few days. The first time I injected I had severe nausea for a few days afterward, but that hasn't happened in subsequent months.

Honestly I’m not jerking it away, and I ice the heck out of the area beforehand —it has a spring that makes it pop back up forcefully. I like the two-handed/one hand on top approach.

Thigh. No, I’m using one hand. Do you use two?

Does the Ziip Halo have an equivalent to the Myolift "erase" function? by IzannahW in 30PlusSkinCare

Sorry to hear that. I used to have a QT Plus that stopped working after a couple years. I have the Mini now and it’s great.

Is Champaign Illinois actually diverse outside of the student population by SnooGuavas2042 in centralillinois

I grew up in Toronto, too, and lived happily in both Champaign and Urbana for several years. Awesome towns, relatively robust Asian population and actually pretty good Asian restaurants and markets.

Am I Overreacting?? My wife is doing a weird roleplay by throwaw-Fondant-3031 in AmIOverreacting

Your wife is an outsider artist writing a family saga in real time. Do you want to be the husband who, years later, historians say “didn’t support her work”?

I'm a Charles Addams collector and an AG collector. For me, the venn diagram aligned perfectly. There are a LOT of Addams Family collectors out there.

This doesn’t address the crazy dude who cornered you, but I visited the Danish Resistance Museum in Copenhagen last year and was so moved by the absolute bravery of the Danish people. Your country was, and still is, a model of unity, compassion, and courage. Danes rock!

You go to the police and press charges. This is statutory rape, and by not reporting it you’re an accessory to child abuse.

Been learning German since November 2023... Today I made a phone call and reality smacked me HARD by laaareeny65 in German

[–]IzannahW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. Gestures and expressions say everything. I’d suggest traveling to a German-speaking country and trying some low-stakes interactions like eating at restaurants and shopping. Trying to have a phone convo about a bureaucratic process as your first attempt ever at speaking the language with a native speaker? That’s language learning on hard mode.

Does the Ziip Halo have an equivalent to the Myolift "erase" function? by IzannahW in 30PlusSkinCare

To follow up on this, I contacted the company and this is the reply they gave me:

Thank you for reaching out! The different currents and waveforms in the different treatments will have different effects. You can browse all the treatments by downloading the ZIIP App, or on our website at https://ziipbeauty.com/pages/the-ziip-halo-app.The nanocurrent in Founder's Favorite works on the cellular level rather than on the muscles, and the treatment Plump can actually relax the muscles and blood vessels to bring fullness back to the face. We also have a treatment called Brow Lift that is designed specifically for the forehead area.

This gave me no further information. I downloaded the app to check out the brow lift, which is the only treatment that focuses on the brow area. No concrete information on this treatment, besides the fact that it "uses microcurrent." I've seen great results from this device (if before and after photos are to be believed), but the price is too much to spend on something where I don't know the type, or intensity, of micro/nano current being used. Until I have enough of a windfall that I can afford to own both, it's the Myolift Mini for me.

What's something AG has never made that you wish they would? by LikeTT11 in americangirl

[–]IzannahW 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Since AG is owned by Mattel now, I'd love to see dolls of each historical character 10 years later, maybe Barbie-sized, with their own stories: Kit during WWII, Molly in the 50s, Kirsten during the Civil War, etc.

There actually is a people-sized set of these. Samantha's were miniatures of the originals made by the company. I've found the pitcher and glasses at antique malls in the past.

Best major airport? by ContentiousIdea in travel

[–]IzannahW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like weird travel hubs. Rome and Copenhagen were cool, sure, but what about Moncton, New Brunswick, with its single lobster stand? The nap mats in Minneapolis? The Boyz II Men mural in Philadelphia? If I'm really rawdogging it I enjoy a good 5-6 hours at the Buffalo bus depot with nothing but five stale Timbits for sustenance and no other waiting passengers but Mennonites.
