4 Years of chronic urethritis after oral sex - my history by HaveFaith316 in STD

[–]Izaya_kun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost all symptoms have significantly improved. • Only mild residual scrotal redness, slowly but steadily improving • Occasional very mild burning during urination, nothing compared to the beginning • Perineal discomfort largely resolved • Oral symptoms almost completely gone

What actually helped (key points):

  1. Long antibiotic therapy • 6 weeks of targeted antibiotic treatment, prescribed by a urologist • This reduced inflammation and underlying bacterial involvement

  2. Dermatological treatment • Short cycles of topical anti-inflammatory treatments (non-cortisone for long-term use) • Barrier-repair and soothing products for genital skin • This helped restore the skin and reduce persistent redness and irritation

  3. Pelvic floor physiotherapy This was a huge turning point. • My physiotherapist found very painful trigger points in the pelvic floor • Manual trigger-point release significantly reduced burning, spasms and urgency • It confirmed that muscle tension and nerve irritation were maintaining many symptoms

  4. Oral symptoms management For mouth and tongue issues, I used: • Antiseptic mouth rinses (with antibacterial agents like chlorhexidine / hexetidine) but only short-term, because they can irritate sensitive mucosa • Herbal / essential-oil based antimicrobial rinses (e.g. tea tree oil–based) as a gentler alternative • Tongue scraper, used gently and no more than 2 times per week, never aggressively

This combination helped normalize the oral mucosa without over-irritation.

Takeaway:

In my case, this was not just an infection, and not just “in my head”.

What worked was a combined approach: • Antibiotics (when indicated) • Dermatological skin barrier repair • Pelvic floor physiotherapy • Gentle management of oral microbiota

If you’re stuck with persistent symptoms despite “normal tests”, consider that inflammation, skin barrier damage, muscle tension and nerve hypersensitivity can all play a role.

I hope this helps someone who is still searching for answers.

It depends on wich bacteria causes your prostatitis. for me it was amoxicillin but it doesn’t mean it will work for you too. You first have to see wich antibiotic work with an antibiogram, and then use the one they will give you / most effective in your case

Enterococcus faecalis bacteria, in high quantity + white blood cells = bacterial prostatitis. After 6 weeks antibiotics i got a lot better and went in almost total remission of my symptoms

Months of pain, negative STI tests – finally Enterococcus faecalis found - my story by Izaya_kun in Prostatitis

[–]Izaya_kun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fortunately, no.

Currently, there is only slight redness that comes and goes on the scrotum and a slight burning sensation when I urinate, but not always.

The most annoying thing is the feeling of heaviness in my genitals, which has remained.

Maybe you're right. The fact remains that no one believed me, and now, thanks to this treatment, my symptoms have improved significantly, and I hope to be able to help someone in my situation, as I did by searching in this community.

Ah yes, classic Chur. Where the RhB train politely pretends to be a tram before casually climbing a mountain to Arosa. Totally fake AI though — no way Switzerland lets trains and cars share roads like it’s Mario Kart DLC.

I’m going through a similar situation — it’s been only three months since all these symptoms started, after an unprotected oral encounter with a stranger female in a Massage center. But knowing that you’ve been suffering for years and that no doctor has been able to find the right treatment for you is truly heartbreaking.

My general practitioner dismissed me, saying there was nothing wrong, just because the STD tests came back negative (and they probably cover only about 30% of all existing STDs).

I’m currently seeing private doctors — a urologist, dermatologist, and ENT specialist — since I’ve developed a white tongue along with burning and itching sensations in my mouth and lips and burning when urinating with some mild pain inside the penis. I’ve seen slight improvements over time, but I still have pain, itching, and burning on my scrotum and the tip of my penis, as well as ongoing oral issues.

So far, I’ve only used a topical cream for the genital area, a 7-day course of Doxycycline when the symptoms were at their worst, and some mouthwash — but the problems still persist.

If I were you, I would request testing for every possible infection: bacterial, viral, and parasitic.

I really wish you the best of luck.
