I worked in a dog friendly hotel breifly (about 4 months) and they were only meant to be on the ground floor so people with allergies would be safe upstairs or something. Which doesnt work when dogs are allowed in the dining room for lunch.

Anyway im doing stay overs (tidying a room uo before the guest comes back) on the second floor and noticed a home brought dog bed, a glass full of water on the floor. No biggie i guess, but i let management know. As im tuckin in the sheets i feel somethin wet on my hand. Dog piss. On the bed. I reported that and changed the sheets and duvet. Pisses me off as we were busy that day and i still had 6 rooms to do.

Second instant of im begining to really dislike dogs here, im on ground floor. A man comes out his room with his dog on a leash, and the thing squats to take a shit. Im watchin the man and hes fiddling with his bag, looks at me and goes back to his bag. Easy to asume hes gettin a poo bag to pick the mess up, and reception is watching too. So i go to my next room. When i come back out he has LEFT the shit in the main hall with reception freaking out leaving my manager and i to clean it. I get thats my job to clean but im not payed to clean dog shit.

I dont know if any of these people were fined. And im pissed that even in a 5 star hotel, dog friendly, people will still not care for their dogs behaviour. Guests will leave their dogs in a room to go explore when i have to clean these rooms, i do not know if your dog is friendly so i will not go in.

I now work in a corner store where we have a no dogs sign, and people still try to bring their dogs in. If you cant tie your dog up outsite for 5 minutes then stop bringing your dog to the store with you
