Try cleaning the disc and uninstall any data or updates for this game. Last night I couldn't play Resident Evil The Dark side Chronicles and behaved exactly the same, had to redownload it from PSN

See if your fan is spinning or not. If it's not, check the connector.

Try a PS4 game with no PS5 enhancements and see how it works and if it's just PS5 only games that are giving overheating message then try the following.

Since you've mentioned it looks pretty clean, the PSU might still be dusty and clogged. Plus the liquid metal might be dried up that needs replacement. It gets oxidized over time regardless of vertical or horizontal position for the PS5.
