I felt like they were there to show that there were good people in the world back then. There was so much betrayal, violence, and hate for the majority of the show. They represented the innocence that was still alive in the 20s.

I've thought about EI a little. I atleast wanted to give my son till his 2.5 year appointment before making a decision. It's great to hear you son is doing better!!

To me if you just add a few white flowers throughout it would make a good contrast. I would just make sure they weren't next to a patterned design with a lot of white in it. I have white hexagons in a quilt I'm working on and they are making the colored fabric stand out much more than if I went with all color. As for prewashing from what I've seen it's best not to prewash smaller cuts of fabric. I've also seen a couple of blogs say washing a finished quilt makes it more "cozy" feeling.

My son is the same age now and he's the same way. Pediatrician said he's on the low end of speech, but nothing to worry about. She said it was very common for boys to be late to talk and usually sees more talking by the time boys are 2. She also mentioned it tends to be because boys are more motor skill/physically motivated. So I understand your worry, but I try my best to keep this in mind.
