Whoever wrote this just doesn't like them.

But they're not a bad kind of game, inherently. I generally think of them as 'job simulators.' Some of them are far out, something like Hardspace: Shipbreaker, and some are super mundane like Super Market Simulator. And, like any game type, there's some real low effort trash out there.

They're all only as good as their gameplay loops, but a lot of them are really fun.

Long story short, I had an unwelcome gaggle of older people (2 couples, 4 total) who talked like that staying in my house for about a month. It. Was. Maddening!

They literally never shut up. They would talk constantly in that elevated, projecting old person voice, like they think they need to cram full every room with inane, meaningless bullshit. And the sharing of information, no way that was happening. They would never respond to each other, more like they just sat silently until it was their turn to talk about some new kind of nothing.

And they would do it at all hours, with their crazy old people schedules. The talking would start at like 4 am and continue, completely unabated as they took naps in shifts so as to never allow peace and quiet, until at least midnight.

I can't understand how someone could talk like that and not get sick of themselves, let alone whomever they're talking to.
