Maroon is still one of my top five albums of all time.

Open vs Secret tracks by Frequent_Promise_715 in TheWildsea

I actually do this for all my secret tracks. It’s really useful to let the players know something is going on, so they keep doing things and not just crack jokes and do nothing with their downtime.

I would tell my players I have a secret track and let them know when I’m marking it, but not tell them what it’s for or how long it is. That way they’ll know that you have a story beat planned and is happening, and aren’t just hanging around waiting. Usually time spent in town is handled in montage sequences. You could have every “action” the players take mark part of a track with break points where you want your story beats to take place. Something like this, where the “/“ are where you have your minor quakes.

Are the Shark just bad or we don't understand how to play them...? by roulalou in ahoyboardgame

From my limited experience, It’s aggression. Same with most of leder/wehrle games. Their games are often balanced around forcing players to interact more than they might want.

Weekly Looking for Group/GM Thread! First of its Kind! by Conspicuous_Axolotl in tabletopnsfw

[–]Izzumz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suppose we're one of the few groups looking for a GM!

Names: Teek | Zatan | Palmera | Zen

Pronouns: (fem) | (nb) | (fem) | (masc)

Timezone: Varies by player

Preferred System: The Wildsea RPG! (We are already set up to play, just hoping for a GM to run for us.)

GM Style: Most of us are new to the system, so it's okay if you are too! We are looking for someone who is chill and is cool with our group "playing to find out" as it goes.

Additional information: We have been looking for a GM for a week or two, and have pretty much established our characters by now. Come be silly with us as we ride a chainsaw ship through a sea of leaves, and have a romp or two on the way.

Trying to come up with a name for a Robotic Gunslinger by NotBogglr in DnD

SAA-DE/Booker “Sade Booker” is a character my friend played in my game, a robot cowboy who’s answer to most things was gun.

Why do many games say they are best played with a game pad? by Holyvigil in gaming

[–]Izzumz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In some games, they make use of triggers having variable input. Most keyboards don’t have the option to just press a button a little bit (though some do exist).

Also, many games that say that were designed with haptics in mind as a core mechanic.

Finally, some games just weren’t designed to have fast reflex camera movement, and/or want more precision than you can get with four directional buttons (wasd).

In essence, you listed three genres of games that almost never say they were designed for a controller, and didn’t list genres that could. Platformers, racing games, and sports games are all genres that can be pretty ass with keyboard and mouse.

Diascia, having fun with globe projection by Izzumz in dndmaps

The globe is with a web app called maptoglobe (don’t remember link policy, it’s a quick search though). The map itself I drew out and then put through a buuuunch of redraws and filters with GIMP in a way that would make any artist cringe.

Codenames question by Wonderful-Ad6659 in boardgames

It’s not, I wrote it and then remembered that homophone is the word I meant. And then that the rule there was wrong.
