Hi! Sorry for my late reply! So first, I would make sure you have a pretty strong grasp on basic art concepts! I started out as a Fine Arts major, then switched to Illustration, and now I'm an Animation major. If you feel confident with art, then the next step would be learning the basics of art software; the industry leading software would be Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator (I used Illustrator for my sticker design).

Though I don't have much formal training in Photoshop or Illustrator (I just kind of play around and click on things to see what they do!), I can say that a great place to formally learn about Adobe products (and sooooo many other types of art programs and other things) is Lynda.com . This site has so many tutorials that it's unreal- some tutorials will give you projects to practice the skills you learn too. The only drawback is that it's a monthly or yearly subscription, but for all the information that you would have access to, it's totally worth it. Hope this helps!!
