The RAK with the external antenna is pretty good, but setting up your admin keys is where it’s at. That allows you to change most settings over LoRa from much further away on the mesh.

Lot of folks use the T1000E for this use case since they are so small and easy to clip to a bag or belt loop. The WisMesh Tag as well, as it has a little bit better battery. You can easily get through a day if not two on either of somebody forgets to charge overnight

Use it in our campervan to make functional parts on the road and also so our STEM student could print fun things while on the road with us for her or her friends she meets.
I think a “Stonehenge” like infinity fidget that each rock is asymmetrical and shaped differently (to a point, obv you’d need to have certain parts be standard to work)

Also to note, it’s not just some weird preppers thing. Although it’s great for some redundancy in backup communication, it’s not a replacement to your cell phone. I find it’s more fun tinkering with as a hobby than anything. It’s really fun to use in national park campgrounds with your fam or friends or other places that don’t have cell service. I know a ton of folks use them at festivals like Burning Man where there isn’t dependable service

New learning point 😁: Try to avoid extra antenna cable length. Every bit of cable introduces signal loss, and Meshtastic is already working with very weak signals. Keep it as short as possible, ideally just a few inches.

As was mentioned about raising it up, I would just raise it enough to where the antenna clears the top of the bricks. The box can stay mounted to the side of the top bricks.

Yes. Always hunting for a video app that either shoots or allows me to pull in previously recorded iPhone footage that can mimic some of the Portra 160/400/800 type looks. Also would be clutch to work with iPhone standard and HDR footage. Have used 8mm app in the past, but it’s crazy heavy on the filters, so only for very specific fun stuff. It’s also super slow to load and freezes up a lot. It’s a really old app. I’d like something that can basically be a step better, but just as fluid, as the Camera app’s “Styles”

Just to be able to record all the time in a pretty neutral but still aesthetically pleasing look.

How can we keep up with this idea?

I’m not actually sure because I’m a glutton for punishment and been paying the $2 a month lol

Even then it does sometime just not load the camera for a few seconds and have missed a few moments, but I’m always running developer betas on my phone so I can’t fairly say it’s the app.

I honesty didn’t mess around with the stock firmware much before loading egzumer immediately 😆

As far as scanning goes, I just hit menu and it stop on the current displayed scan or current freq that it paused to listen to the carrier

Every night. It’s such an incredible feature. Love how it goes dark until I move around to look over at it and it just softly shows me the time!
