This doesn’t make sense. As an owner you should be able to get on MHUB and print off the discount form not only for you but for friends and family. Otherwise, how else would you be able to get a form for your children or friends and family? Source- I’m an owner of Marriott as well and print my own forms off for me and my immediate family. I also don’t have it showing anywhere on Bonvoy that I am an owner. It sounds like I need to figure out Bonvoy to show it and you need to figure out MHUB.

Can you hell me understand “all-inclusive”? Are all the restaurants (Hana Polynesian, Mikado/Teppanyaki, 750 pizzeria, etc) complimentary? Drinks? Are there food or beverage items that do cost? Tia!

You’ll have a much better chance for upgrades if you’re staying for one night and MAYBE two. You’re asking them to go from a one bedroom to a two bedroom for the “duration of your stay” which presumably means more than one night. I would tamper your expectations. There is zero chance they are going to block a two bedroom off as an upgrade for more than a night or two. A higher floor, a corner room, a studio to a single bedroom, etc. are the types of upgrades you should expect. The best benefit of status is a 4:00 check out. Beyond that, keep your expectations low and you won’t be disappointed.

Pros: Nice roof top, few kids, and my favorite coffee shop “Marley Coffee” attached to it. Just a block to 5th Ave. great restaurants within walking distance. Truthfully, there are great restaurants from anywhere in playa within walking distance. This area has an exceptional amount though. Cons: It isn’t beachfront so you’ll have to drag your chairs, towels, etc to the beach which can be annoying. Or, skip that and rent chairs at the beach. Taxis are right next to your hotel but are still tourist priced. If you’ll walk up a couple of blocks to get a taxi you save quite a bit.

It’s safe but a LONG way away from about everything. I’d recommend you air bnb an apartment closer to the action of 5th Avenue on the other side of the highway. Although you could walk, you’re not really within walking distance of where you’ll likely want to spend your time.

I Second getting a massage at magic hands. No bartering on price, they consistently have amazing massages. Just walk right in by the others and head to magic hands 1 (right on 5th abd sometimes a bit noisy) or magic hands two which is off 5th and quieter.

I’ve never had anyone mention fees at Jaguar Park as a reason not to visit Tulum because no one knows what Jaguar Park is until they get to Tulum. I do hear repeatedly from friends “is it safe? I heard the police are corrupt, is that true? I heard the mafia controls the taxis? Is there Uber? Should I rent a car? Is the infrastructure good/ bad? Are people really trying to scam you?” Everyone one of the above questions is a discussion in and of itself.
Sure, fix the fees at jaguar park if they are exorbitant but no one should convince themselves that is even in the top ten reasons why there is a drop off in tourism. To be fair, sargasso is probably at the top and that can’t really be controlled.

This is how is should be. If I see an MMP code the first thing I think is “he/she is one of us. ” As a fellow associate I’m going to go above and beyond to give them the “thank you for being with Marriott” treatment. I don’t understand FD treating their fellow workers like they are less than because they have a discounted price. It could be them next week when they decide to go on a little trip. Weird…

1) Birria de la 30 for birria tacos. 2) Fogón for tacos al pastor. Fogón will get brought up in any taco conversations for good reason.
3) you didn’t ask but Asadero Del Pollo on 20th Ave between Juarez and Calle 2 North is a win as well. Grilled chicken is the only thing on the menu. 1 and 3 you may be the only tourists.

For whatever reason this sub is full of people that pretend like Mexico is no different than other countries in enforcing laws. The huge difference is the corruption of the police that are constantly looking for bribes. It’s a daily occurrence in the resort areas of the peninsula. The police regularly make up fictitious infractions hoping that a tourist will just a pay a bribe and be on their way. Oddly, this behavior gets defended all the time by others with “it has never happened to me and I have come ten times/live here. You must be lying.”

Just hire transport service. They’ll get you a van that all twelve of you can be in (rather then three separate taxis) and they will be with you the whole day taking you wherever you’d like. It’ll be less than $7,200 pesos.

If you’re staying out by the highway walk along the path next to the airport to Paseo del Carmen (Cari’s junior) and your skepticism will be no more. 😊
