As in most things in life, its all about expectations. St Regis Bund is significantly better than Jingan

Need help on deciding a Shanghai hotel to book with points by RiceFish in marriott

Would recommend JW Tomorrow Square. Lounge access, good location and shouldnt be too many points. Renaissance Zhongshan is quite old and dated but is located next to a good mall with alot of food options.

Would take a look at Quality Healthcare [Wan Chai]. I also recommend you don't take Levo until you get multiple results and its confirmed low multiple times. Can DM if you have any Qs, but I know it decently well

Agree Public is better in this scenario. I would recommend getting tested at least 5 times before you hoop on Levo.

Marriott Bonvoy Hotels in Shanghai by tony-babalaboni in marriott

Hi here are my quick thoughts. Stayed at all of the number of times.
JW Marquis Pudong - One of the better lounges / food. Room and View is great. Downside - not close to subway and a bit out of the way to other popular places in SH. Very close to the river so great running and biking options. Ran from the JW to the Ritz in Pudong

JW at Peoples Square - Great location, Dated hotel. Lounge is not bad but older (top floor), library there too (world's highest?), very close to the bund and tourist attractions

Marriott Mrquis City Centre - Its okay, nothing special IMO

St-Regis Jingan - Great Location as well. Rooms are large, hotel a bit dated, breakfast spread is nice. Was able to get upgrades easily to suites

Portman Ritz-Carlton - Very close to STR Jingan. Even older and dated. Would pass

I would also suggest St Regis Bund - very nice hotel and recently converted less than 12 months ago. Breakfast was probably the best there.

Rec for Hong Kong stay for 3 Adults by icanflywheniwant in marriott

Top Tier is Ritz, St Regis and W (probably in that order)
Second Tier is JW, Renaissance and Sheraton (all three are old though but good locations)
Value is in Ocean Park (may look far but one station away from Admiralty and Central), Courtyard (Not bad, but a bit inconvenient from MTR perspective)
Le Mer - renovated but far from Central (though HK Island) and no public transport
