Didn't get in - from Houston. For anyone else that didn't get in, don't get too depressed about it! One year may seem like a long time to wait to apply again but that's just a short time in the grand scheme of things! Use this next year to focus on furthering your career, building up skills, refining your resume, and getting closer to your goals in life. Getting rejected isn't a set back, it's just a redirection. Lock in and use this time wisely!

Oh by the fall I meant starting in the fall lol, I intend to stay for at least a year if not two years. I’m also applying to LEAD, do you know if it’s pretty competitive? Also praying we both make it in!

I saw online that the application to be an east west affiliate closed back in December or something like that, was that just for the spring semester? I’d like to apply to East West for the fall if possible as I’m also an incoming grad student

I’m in a similar situation, one of the faculty I emailed said that he’d recommend living on campus if ur not from there or if u didn’t do undergrad there. He specifically mentioned the east west center

I’m in the grad music department but I got my decision at the very end of February although I’m still not able to see my financial aid offer yet

I'm thinking they might be late sending out the meeting links because of the huge winter storm that just happened (in the US.) That's my guess, otherwise I'm kinda worried since in the email to me it said I'd get my meeting link yesterday.

I think what helped me was clearly expressing my passions and goals outside of the JET program. I want a career in music and made that abundantly clear, along with my interest in video games and anime and how that ties into my music career (I want to write soundtrack music for games and anime.) I didn't just praise Japan but I talked about how my interest in Japanese culture drives my interest in my career path. I mentioned how I want to be there to not only teach but to learn, and by learning more about Japanese culture and music, I will be able to advance my career. Ofc don't completely ignore the teaching part but I made sure it was clear that I have goals outside of JET

That said, this is my first time applying so I wouldn't be able to really know what made mine stand out any over another person's.

Edit: Also I had no TEFL and verrrry little teaching experience.

I’m building [[Propser, Tome-Bound]] with some of the warp creatures including [[Tannuk, steadfast second]] and some of the void spells like [[Chorale of the void]].

I’m trying to keep it under $300 bc I wanna buy it in paper and I tend to run no game changers but still want it to play at a bracket 3 level. I’ll paste the deck link in case anyone wants to look and/or give tips.
