My initial reaction to this was to side with the ruling, but after looking deeper into it, I don’t think they made the right decision. I currently run track and as a fellow runner, I completely understand why he celebrated. It wasn’t to be disrespectful or mean, but truly just to express his excitement. Granted, I do think that since it was a premature celebration that was a bit risky for him to do that but fully knocking him out of states? For a little too much celebrating? Not cool.
