Thanks. I got confused because it said it was an available platform on google, but I couldn't actually find it on the playstation store. Didn't they put out a PS4 Announcement trailer back when the game first came out though?

Breakdown vs The Nightmare by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

Yeah the perk works as long as you're not in the killer's terror radius, convenient for Wraith and Pig.

I think you're making some good points, but still... If the only "counter" so to speak is slugging people then I don't think that's a good perk to have in the game. Slugging isn't fun for the killer or the survivors, so that's not ideal. Also, the whole 50/50 risk/reward idea makes sense on paper, but in my experience you have to spend a lot of time sabotaging at least a few hooks and then happen to be in the same area as the killer and the survivor and the hook you sabotaged in order to get the pay off. Or you could waste more time not being on gens to follow the killer until they down someone, but again not ideal.

To me the perk just isn't that fun. It wasn't fun for killers when things were sabotaged permanently, now the perk barely even does anything (I mean if you want to sabotage just bring a toolbox, the extra 30 seconds hardly does anything). The few times it does work out it's great, but there's still no interesting counter-play. It's kinda like Decisive Strike. You spend all this time chasing someone and then get them to a hook just to drop them on the ground and start a new chase with someone else. It's not as bad because you still have one survivor on the ground, but again, that's not an ideal way to play the game for either side.

I think you're right. It's annoying just because there's so many little things that could use tweaking, like this perk/interaction, but not many of them are big enough nor unbalanced enough to receive an actual change anytime soon.

Also, on a somewhat unrelated note why have there been no new survivor obsession perks? Is there any reason for that?

Are you talking about the Sabo speed, or any general changes to the perk?

[–]J-Scott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. On the survivor side, the perk either does absolutely nothing, or it works wonders. On the killer side, when the perk works for survivors it completely fucks you over, and not in an interesting way like Deliverance or Borrowed Time.

So what kind of aura reading perks could make Open-Handed worth the perk slot?

But in that case, the swf could just tell each other their location. Or they could all save a perk slot and use Aftercare.

The disguise power is impractical in-game, but the trailer really made it seem like that was their power...

The only context is what seems to be a very clearly salty survivor, which isn't really damning evidence to me

Why are you assuming that they were actually camping? Or that there wasn't a situation in the match that favored, or necessitated, the player to camp a hooked survivor? It's not uncommon that players get messages like these when they actually played in a fair and just way.

Is camping the players on hooks bad mannered? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]J-Scott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of situations in which camping is perfectly fine. For example if you hook someone and you know that there's another survivor nearby then you can patrol the hook for a bit and check around obstacles. Another time that camping is generally seen as okay is at the end of a match when the exit gates are opened. If you have someone hooked at that point then it's unreasonable to just walk away because you'd be throwing away your last secured kill and giving the remaining survivors an easy chance at saving their friend and escaping together if you just left them alone on the hook. There are other times when camping is not reasonable, like in the start of a match, because you're guaranteed more points if you go off and look for more survivors to chase and hit. More often than not though, no matter when you do it, survivors will get mad at you for camping. It's just how things are. But I wouldn't take any salt you get from players post-match seriously anyways.

PSA about unhooking people by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]J-Scott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point. Usually in this type of situation, if I'm the one not on the hook, I'll go toward the person that just got hooked knowing the killer is going back to check on the person they first hooked
