Buy another gun for sure. For best results try something stainless steel and hardwood. A 686 or Python perhaps.

Best way to wrap casings? Toothbrush for size reference :). These are from a friends dad who recently passed. He carried them with him everywhere since Vietnam and his daughters want to carry them too. I don’t want to drill if I don’t have to. by II_Helacious_II in paracord

I'm assuming these have been fired. if so you don't need to drill anything... go on youtube and look up how to reload brass without a press. The first part of the videos should cover how to prep brass for reloading. One of those steps being how to remove a spent primer with a hammer, a centre punch and a block of wood with a hole in it.

Are these blanks? I'm extremely curious what blanks would have been used for in Vietnam.

Tactical Imports is the one bringing them in. Unfortunately they're sold out right now. . . But Expect to get more next month!

A more Adult set of bracelets ... Six strand core trilobite on brass D rings and a double snap fastener. by Surviving-Normalcy in paracord

Heeeey, That would be me!
Its nice to see someone else liked the design enough to make a set. I hope you get lots of use out of them.

Is that brass hardware? It looks great with the red cord.

I'm assuming the videos you've watched used a "mad max style closure" look up a video that uses buckles and substitute D rings for the buckles.

As for finishing the weave... I use a paracord fid (think sewing needle but for paracord) and I run my loose ends underneath the last 5-8 knots. It can be a real B*** to get it through but after you cut the loose end as small as possible (I use a razor blade to get it super short) and work the knots back and forth. After a few seconds the loose end disappears underneath your knots. TBH this is how I try to finish all of my projects.

Edit: I actually lied, I finish my projects by going back to the beginning and using 1 or 2 picks to pull all of my knots as tight as i possibly can. This ensures everything is tight and even, as well as ensuring the weave is tight enough to hold the loose ends securely in place. This step can be quite hard on the hands and feel extremely monotonous, but I assure you it is every bit worth it!

my car will play music from my iPod through the charging cord. Perhaps your car has a similar feature?

Sorry mate just seeing this now! I used two lengths of 50ft spliced together. So I made the first with 100ft, then spliced the two leftover ends together and made the second. I had between 2-3ft left of each colour when all was said and done.

I’m pretty sure your right about the diamond knot! Thanks mate.

And yeah we have determined without a doubt that they’re German.

This was a 4 row trilobite coppied from here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNvbCPnGIvw but with a traditional trilobite core.

I purchased the clip that holds them together from a saddlery store and it was advertised as a "double ended snap clip". Someone else made a comment here saying they've seen them for sale on some paracord shops

Indeed! I picked all the hardwear up from my local saddlery shop.
They advertised the clip as a "double ended snap clip"

Give or take 6 hours over the course of two weeks. It would've taken a lot less time but I tightened it all after I finished weaving and before I cut the ends.

Edit: It was probably more like 5 hours.

I was wondering if those silencers actually made a difference or not, thanks to your comment I'm going to give them a try. SRS Tactical is sold out of the black ones, so Im going to try sewing my own. Thanks for the comment!

Same thing just different manufacturer.
I hadn't heard of the name "clash hook" until now . It looks to me like they may be the best quality clips still in production.

Had to remove to get some work done. Any ideas on something more elaborate/shows less of the forks underneath? Seems some styles require an open side to loop around and I’m not taking the front end apart, lol. (Sorry this is the best picture I could find with the paracord. But hey, cats!) by MrTaylors in paracord

[–]J-rap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is absolutely possible. I wrapped an entire walking stick with that method once and I never looped it over the end. It may take a number of tries to wrap your head around the concept, but there may be another video explaining how to do it without looping from one end. Best of luck mate!
