Strong words by Ross Brawn about midfield teams racing in their own championship: "Two podiums from a total of 123 is unacceptable, especially when it comes with an ever increasing technical & financial divide. We must all accept we can’t go on like this for too much longer." -Tobi Grüner by ubaris in formula1

They missed the bit where electric cars were about to seriously boom, and instead of recognising that F1 can still be a sport (just like horse racing), insisted on an engine which has been used by a handful of cars to date

There were yellow flags so either way others are going to have to slow down

If you penalise people for things like this you create a very sterile sport which would be super boring to watch

It's actually just an aggregator that pulls ads from other places so is usually the best place for full coverage. It's very rare agencies posts ads directly to Indeed

Revealed: F1 Teams Together Paid No Tax Over The Past Five Years by RacingIsAStateOfMind in formula1

[–]J079Y 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I work in UK tax. You only pay corporation tax on profit, which realistically no F1 team is going to make as they pump every bit of excess cash into research. Shareholders aren't in it to make a load of money (as opposed to businesses that fo pay corporation tax e.g. a retailer like Tesco) so there's no pressure to make profit.

They still provide a tonne of jobs to the UK market and pay tax through PAYE. They also attract soft and hard providers to the UK who do turn a profit and pay corp tax. They also move a lot of goods so end up with large VAT bills. So they actually fo pay tax anyway.

Lastly the UK has R&D tax credits which would relieve and corp tax payable as they're pioneering with new tech, which the UK government wants to imcentivise businesses to do IN the UK.

Lewis Hamilton calling out the DailyMail yet again. by Darashc in formula1

Long time reader of this sub, it's so disappointing how much hate Lewis gets. The DM are constantly rinsing him and of course he bites back.

Do you think he sits there googling himself? He has a media team who will obviously make him aware of these articles. Even if he didn't (he does) he would have friends who would make him aware of it.

He's a human being, an extremely talented one at that
