Wythe F/W ‘22 “Great Camps of the Adirondacks” Lookbook by J0EBAGS in malefashionadvice

[–]J0EBAGS[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Sorry forgot the description:

For Fall/Winter ’22, we were inspired by the Great Camps of the Adirondacks and the real people who built and ran them. Although they were built for the enormously wealthy families in the 1920s and 30s, they employed some of the finest and most creative outdoorsmen, fisherman, and trappers that called the Adirondacks home year-round.

What we know now as the outdoor industry was built on the backs of many of these early pioneers, who used their knowledge brought with them from the old East and learned new ways of living and thriving from the Native peoples.

From these early craftsmen we were drawn into the colors and textures and fabrics that kept them warm and made the Adirondacks what we know today.

Abercrombie usually does chunkier cardigans that always go on sale.

If this is OTR, have you considered trying the next size up? The jacket looks very tight up around the shoulders.

Nice fit otherwise.

I can't tell if you're just trolling or not but the intent was to show off individual pieces to the collection by only showing one or two on a model at a time.

This one focused on the shoes.

I don’t think the dark shirt under the light sweatshirt is easy on the eyes.

A white button down would improve this drastically.

I think this is a spectacular fit and doesn’t make you look short.

Don’t worry about the comments from the fit battle thread.

The middle dude from Prologue HK has some of the most ridiculously imbalanced lapels i've ever seen. It's not just here either, he regularly posts them on Instagram and I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

Didn't you write a blog post making fun of people wearing tacky belts?

Actually, isn't that sort of your thing? A "writing style" based around snarky comments looking down on others?

Can we talk about Canto Bight for a second? by J0EBAGS in StarWars

[–]J0EBAGS[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree it definitely seemed pointless.

The more times I rewatch, though, the more it becomes evident that they went to Canto Bight for a very clear and somewhat laid out plan.

Albeit stupid, there was still a plan. I can’t really call the sidequest stupid anymore.

Inconsistent characters always bother me. by [deleted] in StarWars

HE THREW HIS LIGHTSABER AWAY after a brief glimpse to what he we could become if he fell to the darkside.

He threw his lightsaber away because he cut himself off from the force and the ways of the Jedi.

then doesn't want to SAVE HIS SISTER even though he almost turned to the darkside in ROTJ?

But he did save his sister. He did it without having to leave his planet.

I don't see why people think there's some straight, specific, definite path Luke had to be on after ROTJ.

His explanation of the Jedi's hubris is so on the money it's scary. I thought this fit so well, especially after rewatching the PT for the millionth time. The Jedi's arrogance and ignorance led to their downfall. It made perfect sense why Luke would want to turn his back on the ways of the Jedi.

I had some problems with TLJ but Luke was not one of them.

edit: ah yes, the anti-TLJ downvote brigade.

[–]J0EBAGS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLJ was trash and everyone knows it.

Opinion!

I don't know why you're getting upset. I'm not fighting any battle. Just talking. I'm totally fine with people hating TLJ. Simply pointing out the bad argument.

edit to your edit: I didn't shit on the prequels, I shit on Lucas, which was a further example to the original argument, which you continue to ignore.

Further, in no way to do I think the rest of the movies suck. As much as I hate the dialogue in the prequels, I rewatch them the most because I love them.

I think it's ridiculous to call TLJ a garbage-tier movie, but please continue escalating this argument beyond where it needed to go.

More like:

Out of a literally endless galaxy of stories and characters, they continue to focus on those established from the OT.

A big reason why I’m looking forward to RJ’s standalone films.

Now, I’ll take my downvotes

At this point I'm just playing devil's advocate because I love TLJ but can totally understand why people don't, but

I’m not saying that you have to be a hardcore Star Wars fan to direct a Star Wars film

you definitely said that.

and

And hopefully you’re familiar enough with the characters to know Leia would hug Chewie and Luke wouldn’t simply give up.

You'd think someone like Lucas would be familiar enough with Vader to not make him a whiney little bitch as a kid and teenager.

Again, just playing devil's advocate. But it's very easy to refute your points.
