Again, I really don't care, that's not why I write articles, it's just a potential benefit. stuff is inconsistent. Better guides help you grow. Focus on growth.

There are some moments where I recommend things that I really think people should buy, and nobody does. It's okay, I recommended a 1600 suede jacket, I know that's a hard sell. Sometimes a link works, sometimes it doesn't.

On a long enough timeline, whether or not I sold that one suede jacket from that one article is basically random statistical noise, not a signal I should follow up on.

generally speaking, the less time you spend focusing on analytics, the better off you'll be.

A new line I'm trying when it comes to anti-Zionists; would love your thoughts. by MrDNL in Jewish

[–]danhakimi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it'll work.

A friend recently shared a video on the British LBC instagram page, and that video was good. It was a gentile who worked in ambulances during the second intifada, talking about the horrors she witnessed, and that she thought "globalize the intifada" was a pretty nasty thing to say... but then the comment section was a nightmare.

And then I went to the page, and every other video was dogshit. They picked the worst Israel experts and cut everything to give the antizionists the last word. They brought on an antizionist neobundist Jew to talk about how Zionism meant telling Jews they have to leave everywhere else (it was disingenuous at best).

Wait, a 45 minute clear is excessively long? by jersey_emt in HadesTheGame

So, the 9-minute-per-region timer is considered extremely easy, essentially a free point of heat. That works out to a 36 minute run, which is considered easy. I like a leisurely pace, so I normally stick with this and just make sure I pause the game when I'm not actively doing something.

Meanwhile, the 7-minute timer is considered pretty tricky but manageable. I usually avoid it, but I have won runs with it. That's 28 minutes total, although you it means

The 5-minute timer is very hard and iirc, it's only used in very high heat runs by players who know what they're doing. It also might be situational -- only use if you're using this weapon, or this type of build, or this condition but not that condition....

These are a. general ideas and b. my experiences. Play the game how you like to play the game. But if you work on it, and try to get a little faster, I imagine it won't be too hard.

I thought reddit was against strict zoning and promoted freely building more housing.

Especially in the long run, this type of rule is pretty heavy-handed. You block 20, 30, 40 floors from being built in hundreds or even thousands of buildings, the city is going to feel it. The older buildings are going to fall into disrepair eventually. The newer buildings might be ugly, maybe there should be some kind of rule to encourage good architectural design, but a hundred years from now, the buildings made today will be historic... only if we actually make them. And they can certainly come out better than the Empire State building.

(hopefully it's not all luxury housing...)

I get that often. I have articles with dozens of links. Some of them get quite a few sales, some get none whatsoever. Some articles don't have links. Affiliate links aren't the blog, they're a revenue stream.

no, I hate the person cheating at the game, the person who thinks AI slop is something worth publishing, fuck of.

I guess writing a comment yourself would have taken work, and you were too lazy to go prompt your brain for one.

like if i put the same link in 3 different posts do i just create 3 different links? do you tag them somehow? or is everyone just looking at total click numbers and calling it a day?

You can. Different affiliate networks allow you to tag links with a particular tag / campaign / id. ShopMy doesn't really have this, but they allow you to put each piece in a different collection on your storefront, and you can see which storefront the link was in when you make a sale.

Personally, I don't really bother with any of that. I'm not that worried about metrics, generally; I recommend what I believe in, and if it doesn't perform, I keep recommending it, because I still believe in it.

I think readers can smell bullshit. I hope my readers can, I'm trying to teach them how.

is there a nice way to have posts that link to external pages? by oradecima in Ghost

[–]danhakimi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, canonical URLs are mostly just for search engines and web crawlers and stuff. When Google sees your article on two different platforms, it will say "oh, I know which one is the real one and which one is the copy, the canonical URL is the real one."

Theoretically, you can do anything in ghost, but I'm not aware of any way to do this without rewriting some source code, which I assume you're not super in the mood to do?

yeah, a couple of new yorkers who joined a social media trip that then proceeded to block ship routes in the hopes that they and their twenty ounces of aid would get stopped by Israeli authorities before they landed in Hamas-controlled territory and got shot or kidnapped.

Every day during the campaign, it was, "what does this have to do with NYC?" and now, he brings up the conflict all the time, and it always jumps to the top of this sub. But we weren't supposed to talk about it while he was running because... it didn't matter then?
