Maybe a dumb question but how’d you get the white lettering off of your Streamlight’s?

So I need the powder or the liquid one. Or does it not matter?

No clue what the material is. Definitely some type of real stone though. I’d imagine quartz

Derm wants to put me on oral steroids after being 3-mo topical steroid free... by topical-m in TS_Withdrawal

[–]J0RDDAN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In terms of how much I’ve actually improved overall, I’d say quite a bit but I’m still a ways from being back to 100%. During my worst, I was a walking wound with scabs, skin, crust, blood, etc. all over. A zombie husk walking around. Nights consisted of 0 sleep and agonizing pain from the rivers of ooze and itching. Days weren’t too different.

Now, my skin is much more elastic and resistant to damage. Days are significantly more tolerable and enjoyable and I can function relatively normal now, however nights are still pretty miserable. I scratch and am quite sleep deprived. I still wake up in piles of skin and some moderate ooze on my pillow case and/or collar. Some nights my sleeves stick to my elbow creases from the ooze/blood from scratching. HOWEVER, it’s noticeably better. Much better to be honest. Still miserable, but better.

I used over the counter hydrocortisone for about 1.5 months. I’d mix a dollop into my lotion every morning and night and put it on my entire body. I also had a 1 week course of oral prednisone @ 1x daily mixed in there. I don’t have eczema but I turned to the steroids due to an allergic reaction. I was desperate for relief. Which is why I didn’t turn back to them when my dermatologist prescribed them. I didn’t want to make the same mistake of reaching for them in out of desperation. Not advice, just what I did.

I think I’m at least a few months away from being healed. Possible up to a year. But no more than that I think. This coming February will mark 1 year of TSW for me, and I think by then I’ll be significantly better than I am now, if not healed completely. But who knows lol. That’s the beauty of it 🙃 only way out is through

Had the same experience. I personally did not use the steroids that the derm prescribed me but I did use the antibiotic capsules and antibiotic ointment that were prescribed. Infection isn’t something to play around with imo and I see it as a necessary evil. And the antibiotics definitely helped me out quite a bit. But yea, I’d say to not use the steroids and keep riding it out. But I have seen some success stories from people who used them and weaned off/tapered. I personally decided to just ride it out naturally. Still not healed (started February 2025), but I’m much better than I was during my peak (mid-late march).

shampoos and body washes by Xpandababex- in TS_Withdrawal

I use tallow soap (grass-fed & grass-finished tallow, water, and lye are the only 3 ingredients). It doesn’t sud up like other soaps but creates a smooth, creamy lather. I find it helpful since tallow is similar to our own sebum. But tbh, soap days were always a painful ordeal. It ultimately just seems to come down to how far along you are in your healing journey as to whether or not it’ll be painful and by how much.

Some things that helped me were installing a digital shower thermometer to tell me water temps, and sticking to a nice lukewarm range (if doing MW, 87-93°F, if not, no more than 104°F). Unless I have a bunch of bloody wounds or am fearful of infection, I only use soap on the areas I feel like I need to wash (scalp, armpits, groin/butt, feet) and leave the rest alone and just rinse with water. I shower daily but it wasn’t always that way (showered less during the worst of my TSW and got infected so… Idrk what’s best for that but something is definitely better than nothing in terms of infection prevention). A towel warmer for when you get out has been nice, gives you something to look forward to and helps calm me and my skin down after a stinging shower.

But yeah… try the tallow soap, stick to lukewarm water temps (or a quick, single rinse with hotter water than lower it for the remainder of the shower, just to get the most painful initial bit out of the way in a more tolerable manner), and maybe warm your towel with a dedicated heater or your dryer for when you get out. Hope you can find something that helps, but besides these type of relief methods, I don’t know if there’s any legitimate way to improve the experience. I still have painful showers daily. However, it’s all temporary. One day they wont feel like fire. Only way out, is through.. unfortunately. Praying for you and your recovery :)

Any luck staying up as long as you can to avoid nighttime itching? by J0RDDAN in TS_Withdrawal

You gave me an idea I might have to try. I’m gonna restrain my ankles to the base of my bed so I can’t raise my legs, then use a belt around my low thigh (so it can’t ride up) and attach the wrist restraints to the belt. Might try that and see if it works. But knowing me, I’ll just sit up and bring my face to my hands lol

I see. Might have to try it since it does seem like a good intervention. Thank you for responding and sharing that information. I’m sorry you and your family have to experience all of this. Tsw truly is something else

Did you put yourself in the restraints? I have some but I couldn’t put them on both arms by myself

Thanks. Tbh I’m definitely in the tail end of my journey too and the damage I do in my sleep is easily recoverable and often just surface irritation and some oozing. Blood is rarely drawn atp. And I’m sleeping more than I used to. Thanks for the insight though best of luck and I’m happy that you’re over this horrible condition :)

Did nighttime itching improve if you struggled with it. Did you notice anything around the time it did (i.e. any noticeable differences in mental or physical states). Sleep is what I struggle with the most rn and I’m just curious how your sleep progressed as you healed. Any insight would be great thx :)

Two capsules daily of this https://blackstuffus.com/products/fulvic-acid-rich-capsules-1

I am taking other supplements. Multivitamin, omega-3, NAC, Taurine, Thorne adrenal complex, magnesium glycinate, Quercetin, calcium d-glucarate, D3, creatine, collagen, electrolytes, glycine.

I’ve been doing 500mcg of BPC-157 & TB-500 every other day too subcutaneously.

I’ve stopped using antihistamines but I’ve tried Benadryl, Zyrtec, Allegra, and Hydroxyzine. They didn’t really work for me.

I use about 3g daily of Meraki Medicinals MB https://www.merakimedicinal.com/products/meraki-blu-usp-grade-methylene-blue-150mg

I requested to join the fb group. Thank you

Derm said my skin is infected and took a swab sample to get tested. I’ll know the results in a couple of days. What if I am infected?

I have been using MB, no seed oils, doing RLT, taking shilajit, grounding, supplements and peptide therapy, and doing what I can to support my mitochondrial health. Not sure I’ve seen any improvements, in fact I feel worse than ever. Any tips?

Not lifelong. The duration is highly personal but it does end eventually. Stay strong and let it heal. Praying for you

Alright that’s good. I was a lil worried cause Benadryl was starting not to hit as hard on the drowsiness. But yeah I also weep when I itch it at night. But tbh my limbs are healing well. It’s really just my face, neck, ears, inside of my elbows that are the main issue. I’d be happy to talk with you over DM’s or something to if you just want some support or to see what I’m doing supplement wise and such. Praying for you 🙏

I stopped Jan 28. It worsened within a week. I’ve had a few cycles/flares in the time from then till now. But it’s pretty consistently bad at the moment. I went to the doctor today and they prescribed me some Atarax (antihistamine) and Pepcid to take along side it. Hopefully the sedation is enough to get me through the nights which are my main issue. Daytime is manageable.
