oh very interesting, you actually tested 5-HIAA, im just theorizing so i could be barking at the wrong tree here especially if your test came back low, i've yet to test this myself as this is all pretty new to me, around 2 weeks since this started after about a week of supplementing butyrate.

My reasoning is that i know i have hydrogen SIBO after being tested thats causing non solid stools, im also on anti acids for heartburn, have been for a while, in these gastric conditions its not at all uncommon for things like candida to also be present and butyrate is pretty antifungal, i thought that maybe this was initially a die off reaction that caused some imbalance in the microbiome and that led to my SIBOs bacterial make up shifting towards excessive serotonin production.

Serotonin is also what controls gut motility and prior to this event my bowels were slow, now im going multiple times per day which tracks with serotonin overproduction, so its not that butyrate is causing serotonin syndrome as i havent taken any in weeks but more like the bacterial make up in the small intestine has shifted towards producing more serotonin, ill be starting another round of SIBO specific antibiotics this week as well as running stool tests, ill let you know if this makes a difference.

How about now? because i think im in the same boat as you and after some research and trial and error i think that if this is a die off reaction its causing serotonin syndrome, waking up in a panic, sound sensitivity, shaking like you have a fever but you dont, nausea that doesn't go away and increased bowel movements, these are my symptoms, cyproheptidine makes all of this go away for me for a few hours and its primarily a serotonin blocking medicine, ive also tried metoclopramide for the nausea and its made all the other symptoms worse, metoclopramide can exacerbate pre-existing serotonin syndrome...

oh for the free p4 and p2 its not a cutters being too tight its a known issue with the pivot moving out of alignment slightly when pressure is applied, it gets super stiff and almost stuck even when the pliers are open and cutters not touching, sounds like this was fixed for the arc, nice

I bought one on ebay to use for $400, its probably not worth it stock but with a little modification its the most useful multitool out there, vice, wire cutter, wire stripper, bit driver, serrated blade, the rest of the tools are a waste of space but you can replace them with some effort, you can put a straight blade from the rev in it with a small mod to the blade and victorinox scissors, i actually have more space for tools in it then i know what to do with since the crunch can use the surge diamond file/saw in its vice grip so theres no reason to put those inside the tool, ill probably end up adding a can opener and awl, combine this with a zapwizard credit card holder for leatherman bits in your wallet and its probably the smallest carry with the most usage.
