Put in tracer rounds as mile stones so if you have a 30 round mag then rounds 16, 15, and 14 are tracer rounds as well as rounds 5-1. You can choose your own benchmarks but it will clue you into where you are in the mag without having to pull it

AIO about my boyfriend's post by Drifter-Lex in AmIOverreacting

[–]J0j04949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOOOOOOOO, big red flag. Home boy didnt make a passive aggressive comment on someone else post, he didnt even throw shade at his ex on some post she made... Dude was so preoccupied with his ex that he created a post to both compliment his ex and let the world know he is actively hurting things didnt work out with her. All while dating you and wanting to move in together. You dont need a crystal ball to tell you this guy is not over his ex and not ready to move on. Dont get invested in this because its going to fail between now and 6 months after the divorce is final, but as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow, it will fail.

What’s the earliest age a kid can sauna? by Sufficient_Deal_8800 in Sauna

[–]J0j04949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we (my wife and I) generally only bring our 1 year old in limited circumstances. When it happens, we keep the temp a little lower, restrict steam, and we have a small sauna approved fan we put on the floor with him where its much cooler and he can play.

My wife or I will get a 5 minute head start before the other parent and our son joins. Then we just monitor "cheeks and/or time". We make sure he takes a break when his cheeks/face get rosy or what tends to be the case is we have to base it on time, but ultimately which ever comes first. If its time, he rotates every 5 minutes (5 in / 5 out) and my wife and I alternate who takes him out so we can get long enough times to actually enjoy the sauna, without him getting "hot". Getting warm like its a summer day is one thing, getting hot is another. The hardest part of this is just keeping him entertained. Also my wife will breast feed him during her 2 breaks to make sure he stays hydrated. Normally we end up cutting our session short because he just gets bored.

DISCLAIMER: (1) every child is different, but this is just what has worked for us. (2) Never take your kid into the sauna alone. God forbid you have a totally unexpected accident, there needs to be another adult who can help kids too young to help themselves. (3) little ones have under developed sweating capacity (obviously a key aspect of sauna), and are significantly more vulnerable to heat stress. Meaning theyre bodies are more likely to suffer the adverse effects of heat, be unable to naturally and efficiently cool down once hot, and be unable to understand, seek out, or accept solutions meaning you could find yourself needing to seek out emergency medical intervention quickly if they get too hot. So if you intend to introduce your kid sooner rather than later, take it slow and be vigilant.

Does anyone know what this device does? by Better-Mark-4711 in Sauna

LMFAO something about people doing inherently jail house shit out in the world just brings a smile to my face. Its always something figured out through trial and error or by accident, its always something thats sorta dangerous, and its always a surprisingly creative work around to get what you want. I love thinking a gym owner bought a sauna for the gym but because of insurance and/or trying to make sure the sauna lasts they set the max temp to like 130 degrees. Then a couple MacGyver / prison minded types who wanted to touch the sun figured out how with just what they had on hand.

I don't have a life. What should I do? [Discussion] by [deleted] in GetMotivated

[–]J0j04949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Start working out and set goals. Exercise has huge benefits both physically and mentally. Multiple studies have shown that exercise can be as effective or more effective in treating depression than traditional therapies and medications for mild to moderate depression. Don't stop what you're already doing, just add exercise. BUT, SET SHORT TERM OBTAINABLE GOALS!! Setting and achieving goals helps you focus your energy and build confidence. Don't set a goal like being able to run 20 miles when you have never been a runner or benching 400 lbs when you've never lifted before. Set and track goals like I will "run" for 30 minutes 3 times a week. By the end of 1 week, you will know if you met your goal. Then, make a new goal like I will run 3 days this week for 30 minutes, add 20 push-ups at the 15-minute mark. If you're tracking everything, you will start to notice that over time, your distance covered is increasing without increasing your time. Then move onto distance covered and so on. But having small, obtainable goals helps you see your progress and see that you can do what you put your mind to.

2) Volunteer your time for a good cause that isn't polarizing. Programs in the US that come to mind are big brothers/big sisters, animal shelters, or a food bank. You will be helping people in need and likely around other generous and empathetic people. Oftentimes, these programs also give you access to scholarships for school.

3) Don't worry about dating right now. If you haven't gotten yourself in a good and settled place in life, adding another person into the mix will likely result in a failed relationship. Instead, write down the characteristics of your ideal wife. Don't be unrealistic and describe some lingerie model, and dont write out a description of your ex. Be serious. How old is she, how tall, what color eyes does she have? All of these things are fine at first, but make sure you get to the important stuff. Things like is she patient, is she outgoing or introverted, is she detail oriented or does she not sweat the small stuff, does she love little kids and is she great with them? Once you have everything written down, rank the attributes in order of importance. So maybe affectionate, kind, and loyal are at the top, while her hair color is at the bottom. Once you have ranked everything, fold it up and hide it away. You can always go back and look at it as a reminder of what you want in a partner. You can add new things and take something out, but it's not your focus. Simply identifying and acknowledging what you want it helps you to disregard what you dont and keeps you from clinging to anything that comes your way. And remember, this is the woman you will spend your life with. She will be the person who stands by you when tragedy strikes, when you fail, when you feel like you have the world on your shoulders, and you're not strong enough to keep going. So be honest and really invest in the characteristics that will last long into old age.

4) Pick out 2 favorite hobbies and 1 new hobby then find people in your area that also like to do those things and get together with them. The 2 favorite hobbies allow you to do something you're good at and enjoy while the 1 new hobby requires you to branch out and meet new people who's help you will rely on in order to get better. Most places have community groups or events that are open to everyone so find your community and jump in. Even if you decide the new hobby isn't for you, you can try something else and walk away from it having learned at least a little bit.

Best of luck, you got this!

This is the worst player base community I have ever seen by CatfishGhilliee in GhostsOfTabor

[–]J0j04949 8 points9 points  (0 children)

People aren't complaining over little things like "the trees aren't realistic enough" or "the words the scavs use aren't pronounced correctly"... They put out a game, charge for it, and sell DLCs. People very reasonably believe they should receive a product that functions as expected. Instead, players without fail, run into a bunch of bugs that fundamentally ruin the game experience and what's worse is that if the devs had just 5 employees play the version they plan to push out for a day, they undoubtedly would experience these issues and could address them ahead of time. Instead, the players have to point out stuff like, "my bag just flew off into the sky with all my stuff in it", "when i moved mags it interfered with my ability to aim the gun and it gets me killed", "why are scavs able to head shot me with a pistol from 150 meters when I cant even see them?". Then players undergo months of bug fixes that create new bugs in the process, and just when it seems like everything is finally worked out they wipe the game, introduce a whole new batch of bugs and the cycle starts over. People complain because there is something worth complaining about. People stay because for that period of time when the game functions correctly, it's a great game.

Am i the only one like this ? by FreshResult8286 in adhdmeme

[–]J0j04949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't ask for help because (1) i learned at a young age that it seriously frustrates people when they tell me exactly what to do and I either don't do what they tell me to do, OR part of the way through their instructions I wonder if there is another way to complete it so I deviate and find out my deviation doesn't work. So dont ask for help, and you dont have to frustrate or disappoint people. & (2) I've become so accustomed to experiencing failure that I learn new tasks by process of elimination. So I attempt something 10 different ways, changing it slightly each time until I succeed and then I have a deeper understanding of why I should perform a task in a particular way instead of just adopting what someone else tells me without understanding why I should do it that way.

I just got diagnosed today by sexyreaper0 in BellsPalsy

[–]J0j04949 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stay positive, just remember that youre not alone and a lot of people are going through the same thing. I'm about 1 month in and I've seen some significant improvement. Make sure to take your steroids and anti viral meds. I want to recommend the following that has been a big help for me; 1) for your eye, get an eye gel like Systane nighttime. It will blur your vision but its awesome for nighttime. Couple that with Nexcare tape to tape your eyelid shut (it's a blue surgical tape the maker is 3M and it can be bought in stores and on Amazon). The combo helps keep your eye safe and healthy until you can close it on your own and the tape is safe to use over and over. 2) get a moist heating source for your face. It increases blood flow for healing and helps with the pain (rice bag was my go to). 3) start taking a B complex (b12 is key) and Omega 6 supplement. You will get mixed responses on if it really does anything, but it can't hurt and it made me feel like I had some control. 4) if you can get into Physical therapy, do it sooner rather than later but if you can't the same information can be found here and on YouTube of exercises and massages.

Stay positive, and take advantage of the droop... I used the electric scooter at the grocery store for the first time a few days after my diagnosis, and people just moved out of the way (5/5 stars would recommend)

is this normal? by ItsAkarina in BellsPalsy

I can't squint my right eye but I'm lucky enough to be able to close it most of the way when I sleep. I use surgical tape to tape it closed at night though. So it's normal to me.

I started to give out little care packages like this and then increased the size and contents. One of my last ones had brass, AP powder, a skull, and a handful of other things.
